South Africans demand permanent Gaza ceasefire during pro-Palestine march

Members of South African political parties and civil society organisations marched through the streets of Johannesburg on Wednesday demanding a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as they marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Rival political parties including the ruling African National Congress and the left-wing opposition Economic Freedom Fighters were among many demonstrators who marched across the Nelson Mandela Bridge to protest against Israel’s military offensive in Gaza against Hamas. More than 100 Palestinians buried in mass grave in Gaza’s Khan Younis

The bodies of more than 100 Palestinians, casualties of Israeli airstrikes, are laid to rest in a mass burial site. These bodies were moved from al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City to Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip for interment. According to Gaza’s health ministry these bodies, which are buried on land owned by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, were unidentified. Qatari PM highlights complexities in captive negotiations

Qatari PM Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said there had been “false” reports on negotiations to release Israeli captives held in Gaza, without elaborating.
