UN Security Council to open debate on Gaza war

The United States has finalised its United Nations Security Council resolution. It calls for all measures necessary such as ‘humanitarian pauses’ and allows for ‘humanitarian access to Gaza’. A key sticking point has been the call for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas – which does not appear in the US resolution.
