Power-hungry smelters in Greece risk closure as energy crisis worsens

Aluminium and zinc smelters across Europe are cutting production or closing down altogether. The global energy crisis has made electricity at power-hungry factories too expensive to maintain. In France and Germany, government subsidies are kicking in to rescue the non-ferrous metals industry from collapse. But in metals-rich Greece, that has not happened.
