Myanmar death toll edges up to 550 as online crackdown tightens

At least five more people have been killed in Myanmar in the latest crackdown on anti-coup protesters. But threats of violence and arrests have done little to deter demonstrators more than two months after the military coup. This comes as 10 ethnic armed groups on Myanmar’s borders threw their support behind the anti-coup movement on Saturday, prompting regional concerns of a wider conflict. Myanmar’s protesters start to flee country

Myanmar’s security forces have been intensifying their crackdown on anti-coup protesters and people are now starting to flee. They have not attempted to leave the country in large groups yet, but neighbouring Thailand is preparing for the possibility of refugees. But one of Myanmar’s ethnic armies that controls territory along the border says it is already sheltering hundreds who have fled the violence. Myanmar police shoot dead 2 protesters in bloodiest post-coup day
