Scientists in Egypt have confirmed a hidden corridor has been found in the Great pyramid of Giza. The unfinished passageway is nine meters long. Royal ancient mummies have been transported through Egypt’s capital of Cairo to their new home, in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Crowds witnessed the multimillion-dollar spectacle of the 18 kings and four queens making the journey through Cairo in the highly anticipated “Pharoah’s Golden Parade”. Egypt hopes the event will help resurrect its struggling tourism industry. 0 Egypt has announced another major archaeological discovery in Saqqara: a temple dedicated to a mysterious queen whose pyramid they found years ago. Her name has been revealed as Neit, wife of King Teti. They have also found 22 funerary shafts filled with coffins and artefacts where archaeologists unearthed 54 coffins, some more than 3,000 years old. The Saqqara necropolis is the vast cemetery of the ancient Egyptian capital of Memphis and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
