Palestinian civil defence crews have uncovered a mass grave inside the Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza’s Khan Younis, with 210 bodies recovered so far, Al Jazeera has learned, as Israel has continued bombardment of the devastated coastal enclave for more than six months. The discovery on Saturday, and continuing into Sunday, comes after the Israeli military withdrew its troops from the southern city on April 7. Palestinian doctors have uncovered a mass grave in the courtyard of Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital. Nine bodies have been discovered so far and are believed to be the remains of hospital patients who were killed during Israel’s attacks and siege of the medical complex. Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reports that efforts to remove bodies from the mass grave have been suspended due to the danger of Israeli attack drones in the skies over the destroyed al-Shifa complex. The bodies of more than 100 Palestinians, casualties of Israeli airstrikes, are laid to rest in a mass burial site. These bodies were moved from al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City to Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip for interment. According to Gaza’s health ministry these bodies, which are buried on land owned by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, were unidentified.
