well we’ve just come full circle it seems. in my grandfathers time it was germans doing this to jews and now in my time it’s Israelis doing it to Palestinians. I find it absolutely mind boggling that a people that experienced things like this is turning around and doing it to others. There’s good hearted israelis out there as there are good people everywhere and I hope this sickens them enough to do something about what their government (and probably a minority of of the population) is allowing to happen. Likewise I hope that palestinians don’t forget what happened but also don’t direct their anger to all jewish people. The most sickening thing is that the rest of the world just does little to nothing. It’s the same as always unfortunately. I’m truly very sorry the people in my grandfather’s time who were controlling the world forced this situation on these people. It just wasn’t right to make that kind of decision for other people and now we see more of the same consequences we’ve seen from the start. What I will say though is that despite what was forced on you, at the end of the day you can choose how you are going to deal with it. I’d really love to see palestinians and israelis living side by side and working together. I remember reading about Saladin and how he let christians worship in jerusalem after fighting King Richard and them finding mutual respect for each other. I thought that was a way of living to aspire to.
