American human rights activist, Aryeh Neier, says that if a government acts in good faith and does a proper investigation of an alleged abuse, then the International Criminal Court has no need to intervene, Neier says he does not have any “confidence” in Israel’s willingness to conduct an internal investigation into alleged abuses against civilians in the Gaza war. He says the International Criminal Court indictments against Prime Minister Netanyahu have made it increasingly challenging for Israel to “manoeuvre” diplomatic relations.
