Rescuers are searching for many people missing amid devastating flooding across Kenya. At least 40 people have been killed after a dam burst its banks in a town north of the Kenyan capital Nairobi. Water from the Old Kajiabo Dam washed away houses and cut off a major road. Search and rescue efforts are underway. Floods caused by unusually heavy rains have killed dozens of people across East Africa since March. Thousands of people in Kenya have been forced to abandon their homes after a drastic rise in the levels of the lakes along the Rift Valley. Homes, schools, hospitals and roads are under water.
