The leader of a Kenyan starvation sect has gone on trial for manslaughter over the deaths of more than 400 of his followers in one of the world’s worst cult-related tragedies. The UN says it is horrified by the discovery of mass graves in the Libyan city of Tarhuna and other areas recently retaken from forces loyal to renegade military commander Khalifa Haftar. Libya’s Government of National Accord says the graves contain the remains of government soldiers who had been taken prisoner.
