Why McLaren Racing’s CEO banned ‘ASAP’ from his vocabulary

Being meticulous and precise is important in business. Failing to do so can lead to miscommunication, says McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown. “I live by briefs and sometimes get multiple briefs,” Brown told CNBC’s Make It. “If they aren’t dated, you end up looking at two documents and you’re not sure which one’s the current ones.” But it’s not just briefs that he finds frustrating when they’re unclear. “Never use the term ASAP – that leads to miscommunication.
