Brazil wildfires: Fires surge 980%, extreme drought expected

Brazil floods: Governor warns of historic disaster in south

At least 10 people have been killed and dozens are missing after flooding in southern Brazil. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has pledged federal help, in response to an appeal from the state governor. He blames the disaster on climate change and is due to visit the worst-hit area.
