Taiwan is considering extending mandatory military service for young people following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The defence minister says four months of service would not be long enough in the event of a conflict. 0 Taiwan’s air force conducted drills to simulate a war scenario on Tuesday. The exercises took place just two days after the country’s air defence identification zone was breached twice by several Chinese planes. China is due to start a large-scale military exercise on Thursday in the disputed waters of the South China Sea.
