At least 288 people have died in India’s worst rail accident in more than two decades, officials said on Saturday. Two passenger train and a freight train were all involved in the accident in the east of the country, but details and the causes are still unclear. Officials in Taiwan say the death toll from Friday’s train crash could rise, as they search through the wreckage. Families of some of the 51 people known to have died so far held a vigil at the site.
