Lake Victoria boat accident kills at least 20 in Uganda; several missing

At least 20 people have died and five are missing after an overloaded boat capsized in the Ugandan waters of Lake Victoria. Police said the vessel was carrying charcoal, fresh foods and fish when the accident happened at 5am (02:00 GMT) on Wednesday. Uganda school attack: Police blame armed group for killing 40 people

At least 40 people have been killed, in an attack on a school in western Uganda. It happened in Mpondweh. It’s a few kilometres from the border with Democratic Republic of Congo. The police say a dormitory was set on fire by fighters from the Allied Democratic Forces. The army says it’s pursuing the attackers to rescue those abducted. Thousands flee from DR Congo clashes to bordering Uganda

The Red Cross says more than 6,000 people have fled into western Uganda. Fighting between the M23 rebel group and the army in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo has sent thousand on the run. Uganda and DR Congo join forces to fight a common enemy

Uganda launches air and artillery raids against ADF in DRC

Uganda’s capital Kampala hit by twin suicide bombings: Police

At least three civilians have been killed in a double suicide bombing in the Ugandan capital Kampala. One explosion happened near a checkpoint at the central police station and the second near the Parliament building. Three attackers also died in the blast and Ugandan police said a fourth was arrested and a suicide vest found at his home.
