Uganda school attack: Police blame armed group for killing 40 people

At least 40 people have been killed, in an attack on a school in western Uganda.
It happened in Mpondweh.
It’s a few kilometres from the border with Democratic Republic of Congo.

The police say a dormitory was set on fire by fighters from the Allied Democratic Forces.
The army says it’s pursuing the attackers to rescue those abducted.

The US says the armed group is a terrorist organisation.
It began as an armed uprising in Uganda but has been based in eastern Congo since the late 1990s.
