The first US-made M1 Abrams tanks have arrived in Ukraine. Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said they would reinforce Kyiv’s armored brigades. He did not specify how many tanks had arrived. Germany is ready to authorise Poland to send German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine to help Kyiv fight the Russian invasion if Warsaw makes such a request, foreign minister Annalena Baerbock has said. “If we are asked the question, then we will not stand in the way,” Baerbock told LCI television on Sunday after a Franco-German summit in Paris. White House officials have confirmed that the United States will send M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, also known as HIMARS, to war-torn Ukraine. The first shipment of the United States’ $200m security support package for Ukraine has arrived in Kyiv, the US embassy said.
