With covid and my son going to school every second day, I alternate between waking up at 6:30 on school days and 8-ish on a non school days. My phone is across the room and I don’t look at my phone in bed both morning and evening. I also have a standard morning cleaning routine so I don’t get distracted later on.

Brilliant !! I don’t have any of those bad habits because I worked hard on my morning routine for the last 6 month except le last point ! You just hit in the middle ! This morning I swiped my floor thinking I cannon work with such a dirty floor. I planned my meals like you advised in an other video ! It’s incredible, I have gained so many hours !!! For the first one, I use google tasks. It’s nice because you can have your email open, then pop that up real quick. It also gives you a reminder because you can put the time that an item is “due”. I also use google calendar so it’s nice because it automatically adds the tasks to my calendar. I know there’s other task apps but that’s just the one that works for me
Me: on my second cup of coffee for the morning. haven’t taken a sip of water yet.
Nate: drink water within 5 minutes of waking up
Me: fills up my Nalgene

These are bad habit definitely worth avoiding!
Moving/exercising and drinking tons of water in the morning has changed my life tbh! I’ve always been active and an athlete but it’s made me much more productive, awake, and overall feeling better every day. Makes working at 7-8am much easier. The only habit here that I am terrible at and need to break is checking social media first thing… oops.

First bad habit in my opinion, eating. We’re often told breakfast is the most important meal of the day blah blah blah.
In reality getting some level of fasting in longer than just your sleeping fast. Seems to be most optimal for longevity!
Allowing those ketones to be present without having to follow a strict keto diet!
Being able to eat carbs etc. throughout the day just avoiding them in the morning, avoiding eating in general in the morning I think that’s one of the best habits to break!

I don’t have problems in waking up because I’ve already disciplined myself into waking up every 4:30AM but *SLEEPING IS MY PROBLEM* so I usually only have 5 hours of sleep
1- Plan your day the night before
2- Wake up at a consistent time
3- Do some type of exercise in the morning
4- Hydrate in the morning
5- Avoid the snooze button
6- Don’t use your phone right when you wake up
7- Stop creating distractions to avoid completing work

I like the idea of putting your alarm clock on the other side of the room, but it has never worked with me. Since it’s too far away, I just end up not hearing it. When (and if) I get up to turn it off, it’s usually too late, or I end up getting back in bed because I have a monkey brain. I’ve started to sleep through my alarms even with my phone on my headboard or on the nightstand, so I should probably invest in an alarm system that ejects me out of the bed.

Never understood why people wake up at 5 am for fun. Can’t run errands because nothing is open. Still too dark to do anything outside. So basically whatever you’re doing at 5 am can be done at any time.

Thanks for your videos, Nate. I just want to ask your advise regarding point 2 when having a newborn-to-2-years. Waking up at consistent times might appear a little fanciful -especially where waking up 2-to-3 times occurs within that night let alone when the child awakes for the day at 05:00 and 04:30 and sometimes 07:30. We ‘sleep-trained’ our child from 4-months old, so For The Most Part, they sleep 7pm through 7am but that’s FTMP -not concretely consistently. Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks again.

I’m a Real Estate Broker with 10 plus years in the business always looking to build a business and that’s why I got my license. I really don’t care for it. I have listed homes for builders over 2million in Houston, and listed an 5 million dollar apartment complex. Now its time I take my money and invest. I have paid cash for a house and made money just because it’s Florida. Great Channel. I’m a full time stock trader and was in Bitcoin at 600. Still pushing to hit it big. I do own a staging company as well and just flipped our furniture on the last two projects and made money. I like the idea of selling furniture I just don’t see alot of money in flipping regular furniture. Maybe extreme high end.
