Airlines have been going bankrupt for as long as airlines have existed. New ones always come back to fill the void. The idea of taxpayers propping up businesses is sheer madness. Let the free market work!

They already received billions which went to pay for $20 million Dollar CEO salaries. Taxpayer don’t need to bail out these airlines. They were mismanaged for years and their pilots were paid better than all service sector employees who are currently unemployed. How much longer do taxpayers have to prop up these overpaid airline people? Flying will not be bouncing back any time soon and its time for the public to set the market. Unemployed Americans are the ones who need help, not these airlines and Cruise-ship owners.
Now do a story on the laws that allow airlines to give you vouchers in lieu of a full refund when they cancel your flight, reroute your flight, layover your flight, reschedule your flight, etc.

Short of the West Coast and International traveling , we do not need subsidized airline companies. We need fast, affordable rail line grid crossing densely populated areas. And public transit.
Folks in China, Japan, Europe use rail to exhaustion. Ask them if they care about airlines. And for those who claim earthquakes and rail do not bode well, the Japanese beg to disagree.
Once again, America’s needs are being dictated by corporate overlords who care little about what the everyday man needs.

How’s stimulus money going to help the airlines when people aren’t going to fly anywhere due to the lack of money or safety? If people can’t afford to pay to go from one place to another is stimulus money going to help them fly? NO. And if if the virus is causing it to be unsafe to go from point A to point B how is this money going to solve that problem?

The airlines “are getting paid to fly empty planes?” Gimme a break man. Every flight I’ve been on this summer was packed! No masks or social distancing, every seat sold.
Those expensive airlines purchased expensive airplanes just for the billionaires. Just allow them to fail. The National Guard can fly their Hercules C-130s to transport people everywhere free of charge and they don’t need expensive meals aboard, just a bottle of water for every passenger and a bag of peanuts !!
What about all the airline employees who are going to get laid off and didn’t get the chance to collect the extra $600 the government was handing out for unemployment?
