A few points he makes, and my thoughts:
“Statistically, most people don’t make it.”
This is something that, UNFORTUNATELY…is true. MOST people will not be successful. Most people will not become wealthy. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t try, and that you can’t do things that will stack the odds in your favor. It’s like rolling the dice ONCE and trying roll a 12…the chances of that happening are 1 in 36, which works out to be almost 3%…but, the more you roll the dice, the higher your chances become of rolling the 12.
“I think getting rich is a fluke, there’s so much luck in it.”
So, THIS is the point where I begin to disagree with his statement…because, the way I see it, becoming “Wealthy” – which, I’ll define as a net worth over $1 million dollars, for sake of this argument…has very little to do with luck, and much more to do with persistence, delayed gratification, consistency, and time. Now, I don’t want to dismiss that there IS some factor of “luck” that exists, beyond our control, although building wealth is – largely – driven by so many other factors, and according to one of the largest studies on Millionaires, 80% of them are first generation rich, and the majority of millionaires have one single thing in common: they live below their means.
There ARE actionable, measurable steps that ANYONE can take if they want to become wealthy:
Improve your credit score, save your money, live below your means, open up a retirement account, invest consistently, continue learning, improve your skills, and don’t give in to lifestyle inflation. If you just follow THAT – I PROMISE you’ll be SOOO much wealthier than the average Joe on the street. .
So, those are my thoughts on PewDiePie’s video, and overall, I enjoyed his reaction and am super happy to be a (small) part of the video!

Really enjoyed your response. I like how you expanded on some of my ideas that I explained poorly and gave good arguments against some too. Welcome to floor gang 💪
The biggest YouTuber in the game! You made it, Stephen!
Hi
I literally came to the comments knowing felix would comment lmao
.
O
I’m surprised graham is a YouTuber and not a mathematician
Life itself is as complex as the human brain…..
Can you make a video for kids and what you would suggest they start doing now to build a good financial future? My 8 year old loves watching your video’s (after I make sure the videos are okay for him). He really wants to start making money right now. He does lemonade stands and a few other one off business idea’s. He isn’t saving any of the money he has made, he uses it to buy gifts for less fortunate kids at Christmas. I’m trying to teach him to save a little now but he is still learning.

You can work hard all your life and you will still not accomplish a hefty wealth. Opportunity and luck are variables you can never ignore.
One of America’s dangerous lies is that people can succeed if they just work hard. To really succeed at work, you need hard work plus a lot of help and luck. It shouldn’t be that way but it is.
He has nice hobbit voice
👍👍👍 To solve the human equation, we need to add love, subtract hate, multiply good, and divide between truth and error. Always have that @evenkingsfall (His Instagram name) THINK BIG attitude! Keep up with the great videos 💙
😂sorry, your videos are so interesting that I keep forgetting to subscribe👍just did it
I agree where you talk about money doesn’t buy happiness. I look back and I was happiest when I was the most miserable.
Happy late birthday 🥳
There is no such thing as luck. A lot of people see the probability of certain outcomes as luck when they are not that at all. When thinking about how someone gets rich we seem to forget that when you put no effort into saving, investing, starting a business, working, etc the probability of someone becoming rich is near 0%. Yet when you do all those things your prob grows exponentially. So to suggest luck has anything to do with it is pretty silly. Sitting around and waiting for luck to arrive and make you wealthy has no probability of success.
It’s sad to say but luck is the argument often made by those who are jealous of those who have more material wealth to justify their own shortcomings. I think most of us have made that argument at some point in our lives but it’s really counter productive and will not help you make progress towards any goal you may have.
Hey Stephan I bought those books 📚 in fact they got here today 😂
I just realised that your voice sounds so much like Jeff Dunham. 👀
Becoming a billionaire might be about luck but becoming a millionaire can be done by anyone with good financial literacy and applies it , and someone who is willing to work hard.
ayo, happy late birthday
Graham you are quite the wise man
taxes are not required to keep the world running and damn, pewdiepie missed a lot in this as well.
Technically this was your 31st birthday since you first one was when you were born and you were 0.
I just got this in my recommended
yo welcome to floor gang
This video shows me that this pewdiepie guy isn’t as smart as these kids thinks he is. He’s creative but he isn’t very smart. If it weren’t for his managers he’d be lost.
Don’t know this piewpepe guy, will check out. 1M$ per month? Why?!? 😳🤔
Money is security and power. But just like drinking alcohol, if your miserable going in, your gonna be miserable going out. However that is If you are miserable and sad. If you are at a neutral state, I agee with Pie. Then you get happiness for sure, but true happiness comes from genuin forfillment in life and not temporary extreme spiks of dopamin and endorphins.
You are right in that you can give yourself more chances to roll the dice(more opportunities) but each roll has the same chance of landing that 1 so it is up to luck if you roll that 1. If you roll a dice 6 times you most likely will get a 1 eventually but for each roll the chance is still a 1/6. There are many people who work hard but most of them don’t get right only a minority of them do.
I just came across this video (and have been watching your channel for the past few months now) and I just have to say I love how accepting you are to Pewdipies reactions that you don’t agree with, and how constructive your reactions are as well. Great content, indeed smashing the like button every video 👊
Can you please share the link where you bought your fountain of youth? I am looking forward to look 6 – 7 years younger than I am too 😄
Jokes aside bro, I am currently 27 and your knowledge has been giving me a lot of inspiration and insights for my investments.
Btw, I have an business plan (app) that has potential to be turned into a multimillionaire (maybe billionaire) business, and I’m just looking for investors. Reply to this if this interests you, I’ll send you my contact and we can schedule a call.
Best regards

The way UK tax works is the 45 percent is only from the earnings over that threshold the earnings below that are in the tax brackets bellow it
You miss all the shots your do not take.
Totally agree with your points
Very logical explanations

Can’t get a Roth IRA I live in UK
Can’t relate.
Getting rwealthy is a thing of luck. It also requires a lot of work, most of the time.
Getting more thoughtfull about spending and investing to have more money then you own right now, so you have a better life is obviously something everyone can do.
So getting welthy/rich is luck dependend, first more than later.
This does not take away from people that get wealthy because they mostlikely worked there asses off to get there.
And also should not stop anyone to pursue Wealth if they want it.
Because if you dont start you can not get anywhere othere than where you are at right now.
This is why you watch the originals video first My Stupid Self.
I mean this can easily be refuted, Pewdiepie has a pretty good sense that luck’s impact on your life is very important. You can (and should) definitely put effort to become better at something (because it’s kind of what makes you thrive and give a purpose even if you do not end up being successful)…
…but Graham’s claims are quite poor. Picking up on the “Roughly 80 percent of millionaires in America are the first generation of their family to be rich” and all the “they live below their means” is honestly a really flawed argument that should have been more carefully handled (this is something that we should all have to be careful when reading or listening to someone else, myself included). The issue is rather simple – If the problem question is: “Is effort (saving money/living below your means) more impactful than luck in changes of success?” then you never see how many millionaires live below their means… no statistical/scientific researcher worth your salt would do this… it should be clear that you would have to have a sample of people who live below their means and then see how many millionaires you would find… so to base your argument on that is really quite unreliable
Jeez
Hey happy late birthday
Do a house tour man
This was a great video! Dude, you’re good at this youtube thing!

BEATS HEADPHONES?!
Graham, on the jubilee video, looks like he wants to escape. 😂
You CAN become a millionaire, it’s only about luck if you get a huge inheritance or if you win the lottery, but it is not luck if you invest in real estate, flip houses, invest, start numerous businesses until one of them booms, etc….
People think becoming a millionaire only happens if you start a business and then you’re worth 173 Billion Dollars
“Most people will not become succesfull…” I got mad, thats a dumb comment
Alternate title: millionaire reacts to millionaire reacting to millionaires
Ms Charlotte Briggs has been the go to source of the information and profit I have obtain in cryptocurrency. I was in the dark about all of it and I owe all my progress to Ms Charlotte Briggs for her help
It’s a surprise to see someone else who has been in touch Ms Charlotte Briggs. She coached me on how to invest safely in cryptocurrency.
I have made huge profits from my investments with her
I just started investing I bitcoin, how do I get in touch with your broker?
yo sick dw’s bro!!!
So with that logic Amazon has spent more billions than the billions its made? Zero chance they are in the red, Zero.
Taxes are elaborate because you’re not meant to understand their get rich quick scheme. Before the Federal Reserve (which is a private corporation) 1912 the Unites States didn’t have income tax, something they literally fought a revolution against. *cough* Federal Reserve *cough*
Think of it as a multi-generational MLM but on massive fucking steroids.
The reason most people don’t become wealthy is because they simply don’t try.
Good points. Keep it up
Thanks for the information…
So funny ,we have to go through sadness no matter what ,like sure even if u will have money u will not be happy ,but the idea is you have choice to choose how will you spend your money ,but when you are poor you don’t even have a freaking choice it’s like being stuck ,and that’s why money makes a person happy cuz it gives you a choice …..
I thought you were a lot younger than me and I have been panicking pretty much every time I watch your videos thinking it’s “TOO LATE” to give myself financial freedom!! I turned 30 in October of 2020 so now I feel a little better knowing you’re a couple months older than I am! whew! I’ll keep watching with a little less panic now. 😉

part of the reason he believes its luck is because he isnt from america AND he got rich from youtube which is asorta lucky from the algorithm HOWEVER he posts extremely consistently
Money buys happiness because you can’t be happy without food, water, and shelter. Try living a week without any money or commodities that require it.
Luck is a huge component in wealth given that the vast majority of wealthy people just had a good spawn point. Many people stay within the wealth class of their parents.
Graham you should watch the veritasium video on luck v hard work. Great vid!
You’re certainly “lucky” that real estate is so overweighted toward demand. It’s essentially a legal get-rich-quick scheme, albeit with some inherent risks.
Wealth is scarcely “created” or “built” per se. It’s transferred. If you are getting wealthy, chances are that someone else (or several people for millionaires) are becoming poorer.
The millionaire next door is a great book
Honestly man I cant thank you enough for these videos. I’ve learned the value of saving, found a career to work towards, and discovered how fun investing and growing wealth can be. I’m excited to begin my own real estate business in the coming years!
Thanks for the feedback.
I advise you get in touch with my cryptocurrency expert Jordan on whatsap to make huge profits from cryptocurrency like I do with his strategies

Happy birthday:)
Pewdiepie thinks like that because his growth in YouTube was super lucky and random. It’s hard to put yourself in others shoes.
Nice rebuttal. Agree – all of PewDiePie’s comments sound like he learned about personal finance on a hippie commune (nothing against hippies of course).
Being a white male is also a major factor to have the odds stacked in your favour.
So you’re born on Earth Day? Damn.
Welp, if you born in latin america is really luck the thing that you need to have a little money.
People think that money can’t buy happiness. The reality is that having no money can’t buy you anything.
Hey is your birthday really on Apr 23
12:50 the thing is anyone can become successful is often times used when talking about affordable healthcare, education and welfare. Wealthy is a subjective term but the fact is workers will always outnumber business owners and because off that taking care of the working class take precedence. Not everyone should be forced into trying to become a millionaire. The working class make the economy run and we should strive to make sure business owners and workers both thrive not guilt or shame each other.
There’s a good video from Veritasium on how luck only partly affects our chances. It’s more of a statistical approach though.
Have you been working out Graham? For arms are looking yoked
Money without strings or responsibility can buy happiness…in the now. Agree that it makes some things in life easier, a lot actually. The sacrifices though. News don’t dig deep enough on those.
Lmao. You always have the same probability when you throw dices.
Re:Amazon Taxes ->>> let’s be candid by reading the 10-K and looking at the cash flow statement, Amazon pays very little taxes relative to earnings. That is a fact. It would be intellectually dishonest to say otherwise
For the algorithm
Graham I can’t believe you always complain about wasting money but you bought a beat headphones it’s a completely ripped off!!! Anything else would be better then that. Take your $300 buy a sonny or bose it will actually give you some bang for your bucks
The truth is Pewdiepie comes from Sweden. He pays way less tax living in the UK than if he lived in his native Sweden….
i just wish the mayority of the people that saw this video including me lol become rich or at least wealthy based on their perspective
Douchebags easily confuse discussions about realities of the universe versus discussions about self-help advice (such confusion is a hallmark of fallacious conservative thought). Indeed the illusion of free will is often strongest for douchebags. Nothing in the past could have been different in ANY way given the conditions of the universe at the time; this truth should always inform discussions about personal success if someone is a logical person and also not a massive arsehole. The brain is a physical organ; there is no “soul” or magical miniature “self” hiding in the brain controlling itself (that is a nonsensical delusion), yet that is what these boobs essentially believe to justify their feelings of worthiness.
Oh money doesn’t buy happiness right ? Cashapp me 20$ then😐
I think Graham is right about most of the things, but he seems to sometimes forget that most of the worlds population simply does not have the opportunity to “follow the basic steps” such as “living below your standards” and “invest early enough”. Large part of the world lives in underdeveloped, poor countries and have to work 14 hours a day to earn JUST enough to feed themselves and their children. Living below their standards means they starve to death…
I think this is where “hate” towards millionaires comes from. Sure it seems all normal and possible in THEIR world, but they sometimes seem a little ignorant to what the world out there actually looks like to a lot of people. And if only they realized what their money could do elsewhere. And being born in a welfaring country is 100% pure luck, which means PewDiePie has a really good point.
That being said, I love these video’s, learning a lot and Graham seems like a real nice guy 🙂
Actually, there is data that shows statistically that children from divorced families end up with worse quality of life. So Graham you beat the odds
the UK income taxes are so ridiculous. You guys are kinda lucky you can move between states for better tax rates
Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it does tend to support it.
White privilege isn’t “luck”?
Pewdiepie is a doomer 🤣
What really dumb comments from pewdiepie, I suppose because of his dumb audience
Watching this a day after his 31st birthday
One year later, still rolling the dice
Some say ” U will never know how happy i am when i found a money in my pocket”.. 🤣
