Most people don’t believe that I genuinely enjoy acting poor. I love showing off how little I spent on things, rather than how much I spent on things lol! Acting poor is awesome! And as someone commented, when you have money saved up, you worry less about life giving you crap from time to time.
4:52 ma M5s bitch aha. Shits done depreciated 50%+ already but we aint sweatin it
5:15 It’s about the present only, memories only last the day. That’s where ur wrong bossman

Excellent video!!!
When people ask me why I don’t buy more stuff/junk and just invest my money… I tell them I’m buying the only thing I want, my financial freedom.
So true. So many people are short sighted to see the long term picture.
I own a dumpster business in Michigan. You know where all that stuff they buy winds up? In a landfill. They might as well cut out the middleman and just go to the landfill and bury their cash.
@Gee purrs or do kinda what you did. Buy the landfill
I am just LIKE YOU! but in a smaller scale. I work part time and go to school and save all my money. So far I only invested my money on things i need like a car to get me to work, and school books (No need to spend any money on food or housing cause I live with my mom, and she can cook!). Not spending money is happiness in itself, we get some sort of euphoria in our brain when we see our numbers growing, and take action to help that momentum going. I can not make investments in the scale like you can at the moment, but when I get out of school and start working at a real job making some real money I will start investing. I can relate so much it’s cool; hopefully that’s an indication that I may have a mindset like yours to allow me be successful like you!
That’s great work, well done! Funny how similar you are, I’m the same way – saving $100 gives me way more enjoyment than spending it. And don’t worry about not scaling your investments, it takes time – I’d say it took about 5 years of saving six figures to really see the money start growing at a significant level. Just stay on track and you’ll do amazing!
GrahamStephan Cool! You replied! May I ask have you done or thought of investing money in others way like stocks or making something yourself? If so how did that go?
💯
I don’t think money buys happiness, but I think it prevents sadness.
You’d be shocked. Even with all the money, you could still be lonely, depressed, sad, etc. Money isn’t a cure for sadness.
i really got everything you said graham and i also have the same beliefs, our society has so much emphasize the false need to buy things in order to be happy.
That’s why they in section 8 boom!
Notifications dont always work because people need to put it on always. Read up on it graham.
+SupermotoCentral I have a regular account where I subscribe to myself. I always have notifications turned on. Half the time I never get them, and most of the time they show up 15-60+ minutes behind.
A thought provoking video but I enjoyed your mini-rant 🙂
+Andrew K. thank you!
As you say in the video, spending money on experiences is rewarding. That’s all I’ve ever wanted, is to have enough money to have enjoyable experiences. Unfortunately it seems like most of us end up working in a cubicle with only sundays free and maybe a week of vacation per year if we’re lucky.
So I still pursue money the same way a greedy materialist would, but only in hopes that I’ll have enough to be free from the cubicle. I don’t care about flashy cars, iphones, or how many bathrooms my house has. I don’t even need a house, I’d be ok with an apartment. But fucking hell, *please* save me from my future as Karl from IT support.
+Karl Dilkington Im the same way. It’s great to make money, just as long as it’s done from a health frame of mind. Freedom is invaluable.
I always wonder, is it typed out what you are going to say? or is it freestyle?
+Team Sheesh Freestyle. But I make notes about what I’m going to say and in what order. That way I have a basic outline and not to get to distracted.
bruh my screen can’t take anymore smashing! Seriously very wise advice. Thanks for sharing!
+crayrayc thanks for smashing!
Freaking Tai Lopez man lolol
Great explanation!
+KASSANDRA RIVERA thank you!

BUY EVERYTHING NOW! is the best attitude ever. So we seller can sell a lot and make a shut ton of money👍🏻😂😂

How would you, as a successful American who lives in California, suggest the federal and/or state policies should change in order to great an environment that optimizes income for people (wage based and entrepreneurial)?
Just had someone tell me this today XD
+Allaiya Awesome!
Convert your money to gold and silver coins… After the collapse and Society struggles to rebuild you will have gold and silver with which to buy necessities… People who held paper dollars or electronic dollars will be broke… When the new currency is issued whatever it is you can buy it with gold and silver… This way you convey your money from before the bad period To after the bad period

Deep… Very deep.
Thank you 🙂
It takes a strong mindset to go against the peer pressure of spending. It’s much easier to save and invest when you surround yourself with like minded people. If you can’t then at least read books, forums and watch videos like these to build that mindset so you can witstand the pressure of cunsumer-minded friends and family.
I’ve had this same convo with people that think I could be happier if I spent my savings when in reality I would probably have buyers remorse because I never wanted /needed those things to begin with
So true!
I am happy from exercising. I don’t know why and have no explanation for it. When I run through a warm breeze, when I swim on a hot summer day, when I feel the burn of pumping iron, when I wipe my cold sweat off my forehead during winter, when I take a warm shower after running, when I am finished with push-ups, when i feel sore the next day. The only time it sucks I when I get injured.
This is deep. Well said.
Being wealthy is a mindset success is all relative its all in your head every thing is not as it seems took me forever to figure that out college won’t make you successful too many people feel entitled thank you Graham!
This is great advice.Just don’t tell your girlfriend this when she want new handbag.😂
Spend it Smart.
LoL you used his face
Investing is key 🔥
Wise beyond your years my friend
you’ve got it figured out
I agree
I’m one of those odd people that actually gets depressed buying stuff (ie: liabilities). The more expensive stuff I have, the more I worry & think of how much better I could’ve used that money.
I love driving a 11 year old Jeep Patriot with 170K miles on it – I don’t have to worry about it being dinged up, stolen, getting dirty, or depreciating like a rock.
I love living in a modest 1,700 square foot ranch-style home built in 1983. Taxes, insurance, & mortgage payments are reasonable. Okay, maybe not the taxes but whatever 😛
As long as a person had their health, family, friends, and comfortable living arrangements – life is good!
I can explain this in 30 sec. There is billion times more chance to live tomorrow than to die tomorrow for a healthy adult under 40.
Where did you get that world picture in the background?
Found it on eBay!
I smashed the like button. Like, 8 times or something. Hope that helps.
YESSS!! THANK YOU!
GRAHM ARE YOU JEWISH
?
Thing is I don’t spend money on video games because I think I need it. I do it because I enjoy it and it’s fun. I couldn’t care less about having an expensive car, as long as it gets me from point A to B. I don’t care about or want an expensive house either, because as long as it puts a roof over my head and maybe has a nice backyard for the dog I’ll undoubtedly be getting one day. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having hobbies though. I just can’t imagine sacrificing not being able to play video games (either by myself or with friends) for decades just so I can make the most money possible, but I guess that’s because I don’t need to make the most money possible. I just need to make enough to live comfortably, then have some extra play money on the side. I don’t feel the need to make more and more and more, although I certainly admire the drive of those who do.
Haters are really gonna hate.. oh my!
Anywho, great video! I really like your perspective. Keep reminding us to like and subscribe, because there is nothing wrong with that. (Not that you needed permission, OR a reminder, but just thought I’d show some support.) I really gain a lot from your channel, and it is nothing for me to just “like” it when I’m finished. Keep doing you, and thanks for sharin’ all the wisdom you’ve gained!
Perhaps you’re earning and saving money to fulfill some sort of void or deficiency in your life.
Yep. You got me.
Don’t spend more money, invest more money
all poor people always say that!
that’s why they poor!
Jheeez your subscriber number has gone up 1k+ per day lately lol
Yeah its been nuts!
Great video .
That intro!!!! Everyone in business needs to see this video.
Hey thanks Ben!
5:07 Agree! I live for new experiences, not for an accumulation of stuff. I live in a small & simple home and drive a modest car, a Kia Optima. But the simplicity is no match for my passport 🤣 I love to travel! Travel gives my life purpose! I applied for a passport in 2008 and noticed that the expiration date was in 10 years. At that moment, I made a goal to travel to 10 countries/territories in those 10 years 🌎 I went to 13 places in that decade so I went above and beyond my goal! 🌟
I just renewed my passport earlier this year and I can’t wait to get to visit 10 new, exciting, memorable, and amazing destinations! ❤️
So well put together! made my day!
Yeah, spending money is cool. But you know what’s cooler? Not having to worry about finances if I develop health complications
😜🙌🏼
The only caveat to this is that if you are spending money for genuine experiences, I agree with those people. For example, my dad has a good amount of money, but he NEVER spends it. Now that wouldn’t be a big deal, except he never seems happy and can’t allow himself to go out and do something, like a vacation. He has all these wants and desires for traveling and seeing the world, and he has the money to do it, but he is too obsessed with making the number go up and not go down that he never allows himself the opportunity to pay for fulfilling experiences.
Now he’s getting old and his health isn’t the best, and now if he traveled, he certainly won’t enjoy it nearly as much as even if he did it 10 years ago. Make sure your money you spend goes towards something you couldn’t EXPERIENCE without that money, rather than piling up things.
I agree!
Prolly more then 30% this time
Amen!
Bullshit , spend your money and enjoy it while you can , your life seems really boring and worthless , no thanx I enjoy my money every day and live in the moment , when you are old impotent and can’t walk money won’t do you any good , I know I work with millionaires who saved their whole life’s and now their are old and rich and their life sucks , yes you better save so you can pay 24 hour caregiver when you are old , saving is stupid
I’m
Happy spending money thanx
Ok
If you die tomorrow then why does all of that “stuff” mater?
What if you live tomorrow?
Exactly. I am 19 and have 48k in my credit union account. I just tell people, I am broke so they don’t come after me.
Should I get a credit card though my Credit union or a local bank?
I don’t want to be super rich — I simply want the freedom of not having debt. I don’t care if I struggle with bills every now and then either… I just want to not have to check my credit score and have my anxiety spike whenever I get a notification from Credit Wise…
My friend is still in med school in his mid-late 20’s and I make $225/hr… I love having conversations about this with him as we both find each perspective interesting. I have a vid on my channel about how I make $225/hr.
Crazy!
I’d like to see your thoughts on the concept of velocity banking. Using a line of credit to leverage against an installment loan. Totally off topic here, but I haven’t seen you talk about it
No. It seems so stupid to me.
@Graham Stephan I had a 10,000 balance on my car, I do about a 1200 balance transfer from my credit card and pay that off before the statement closing date by dumping all my income on to the cc each week. Every month the card gets paid to zero before i pay any interest. I have been doing this once a month, dropping the car balance to about 3500 in just a few months. I know you will ask why not just pay the car down, but using the cc, I stay liquid even though I dump all income back into the line. The same principle can be used to pay down a home mortgage . If you check out vip financial videos, I would love to you pick it apart. To put the numbers above into perspective , I take home about 500 a week from my job
That being said, it’s a better idea to invest in infrastructure to purpetuate a hobby/passion that can generate an income at any point rather than items that depreciate because all they have is an “IT” factor.
Graham, I really enjoyed this video. I now no longer pay full price on clothing and cook for myself to save money. What I do send money on is traveling and running in full marathon races. I do find really happiness here. Running shoes are very expensive. However, front runner sells discounted shoes at roughly half price. If I like a particular brand then I can buy online cheaper after trying out from a store first. Right now I’m looking into credit card deals to help with flight and hotel point when traveling to each state for marathoning. Covered Bridges and national parks are usually an inexpensive excursion around my full marathons in each state. I’ve completed 15 full marathons in 14 different states (2 in Ohio)
Graham, 2019 wisest man.
You don’t have to buy happiness – Graham posts up pretty much daily and responds to ALL comments on YouTube 🙂
Almost all of them 😉
Smash that like button!
Haha you actually got me that time, like button thoroughly destroyed!
Social Media and Youtube truly amplify this you must have it all mindset any any cost mentality. When you see the Grant Cardones and Dan Pena with their alpha male rich guy persona, this makes people feel more insecure. Many of these so called social media gurus are nothing but scammers and rely on multi level marketing schemes to make money.
I love making money, but I also love saving and investing it to watch it grow, be it with my rental property or investments. Don’t fall for this quasi-motivational nonsense such as ” If you’re not 1st your last”. Have faith in yourself and the journey will reward you.
I’m showing this to my 7 year old right now
Awesome!!
I have been binge watching you channel throughout the last few weeks. And this is like the best guidance I’ve ever need. Like for real a lot of the things you say I agree with ever since I went to college. I hope this youtube channel can make you a lot of money because the value you bring is amazing.
I wonder how cheap you are in real life. You always say you are.
I am 😂
Your channel is helping me so much with both financial and personal development. It’s a bit of everything: financial mindset, worldview, practical advises and motivating interviews with other people. Thanks for your work, Graham, wish you all best.
so happy it’s helpful!
I like statistics, even if they could be made up. So I smashed the like button… then I unsubscribed and resubscribed just for fun.
Yo Graham , where does one invest a few hundred dollars? I need your help 😅
I wouldn’t recommend classical investment methods (eg. stocks, getting interest back on it , etc.) as they wouldn’t generate any significant return.
Penny stocks are also extremely risky, you might risk losing a huge amount of money (if not all due extremely low liquidity).
Try buying and reselling stuff online or anything within your skill-set. Remember it’s not risk-free , be careful and smart about it.
Damn I start smashing the like button before even starts talking. That’s conditioning at its finest.
You had to do ma boi nawlege like that
You got a lot of “stuff” in the background. Did you spend your money on those things?
Spending money on experiences is what fulfils me. I travel 4 months of the year, BUT I’m so frugal to make this happen. I invest 50% of my wage, live in my sister spare room and recycle my tea bags.
Every travel experience I’ve had I’ve learnt life lessons and it’s opened my mind.
So if your going to spend money, don’t buy a new iPhone by a flight with your mum to a country you’ve never heard of.
to all the people that say stuff like “what if you’ll die tomorrow/today/whatever” – in the US the average life expectancy is 78,69 years. Thats statistics. You can’t argue with that. This is how long you can expect to live for. You might die younger, but betting your financial freedom on that is kinda irresponsible
I will never buy a super car, even if become a millionaire, 100k$ can make me try every supercar I ever heard of instead of having one car setting in my garage
I’m surprised at how much I forget to smash the like button. lol
Maybe not spendit in stupid ways but if youre making millions a year enjoy it a little
Graham I think the point is,its OK to relax and spend from time to time and that you don’t have to go out of your way to save…too much of anything aint good for ya….Love ya man but in all honesty your response was too long, sucked and didn’t change my mind.
This shouldn’t be in the “Real Estate Investing” playlist.
Way to stay grounded Graham. Very impressive, keep up the great work!
And this is why I would consider you a minimalist ! Money doesn’t buy happiness, only freedom and time
Outstanding verbiage on this video
I enjoy long course Ironman triathlons, so I spend money there. But I love to invest and enjoy frugal things outside of the triathlon racing and training.
RIP Colby Bryant. 01/26/2020 🙁 500mill networth
Buying a 1500$ iphone may make me happy for a day or a week. But the guilt that I wasted that money which I could have invested will make me sad.
Ofc this is recommended now lol
Your are great
I smashed that like button 345 times. Did I do something wrong?
Yeah your right 💯
This is one of if not the most underrated videos on this channel. Great work Graham!
People at work will be talking about going out on the weekend or saving up for the newest gaming console etc. Meanwhile; my portfolio is up more in a few days than what we make in a month. My annual dividends will be paying me more than the stimulus checks… Hopefully for life.
Love the videos keep them up
