New Testament
Jude is clearly distinguished from Judas Iscariot, another apostle and later the betrayer of Jesus.
Both Jude and Judas are translations of the name Ὶούδας in the Koine Greek language original text of the New Testament, which in turn is a Greek variant of Judah (Y’hudah), a name which was common among Jews at the time. In most Bibles in languages other than English and French, Jude and Judas are referred to by the same name.
Aside from Judas Iscariot, the New Testament mentions Jude or Judas six times, in four different contexts:
“Jude of James”, one of the twelve apostles (Luke 6:16 and Acts 1:13);
“Judas, (not Judas Iscariot)”, apparently an apostle (John 14:22);
the brother of Jesus (Matthew 13:55, Mark 6:3);
the writer of the Epistle of Jude, who identifies himself as “the brother of James” (Jude 1).

This could have been a tacky display of wealth and privilege but Isaacman showed excellent judgement recruiting this crew and they were great ambassadors for private spaceflight. So good to have positive inspirational messages out there to counter some of the negativity. The world could do with more of this.

Just because you don’t want to go to space doesn’t mean you should prevent others, or shame others. This raised so much money for cancer research, and opened the door for commercial spaceflight. In time it will be like taking a plane somewhere. When planes first arrived, I’m sure a bunch of people thought the same way, but now almost everyone flies. Someone has to be 1st and we should praise them and be inspired by them for what will come.

Yes. Not only did they get serious training first, they performed science in space. That qualifies them as astronauts. Unlike certain recent tourists who just couldn’t wait to pin on their “astronaut” wings the second they got out of their craft.

This is not HISTORIC! . It was juat a PUBLICITY STUNT for Mr. MUSK INC. HOORAY FOR CAPITALISM! Now the rich can exploit Space for their own profit. The mission was accomplished 60 years ago by ASTRONAUTS, these guys are just paying passengers! If they wanted thrills they could just go to CONEY ISLAND AND RIDE THE ROLLERCOASTER!
So they are exploiting space Because they were there for three days? And 3 people on this mission where just ordinary people, not government employees who trained for 6 years.
I didn’t see a single mentioning about this mission in finnish mainstream media and it’s sad.
The US coverage was terrible as well. I had to “google” it to find stories about it.
Here in the UK, it wasn’t the lead item on the main channels, to be fair a lot of other stuff is happening now, here and around the world. There were reports and I suspect the BBC’s long running (since 1957!) The Sky At Night monthly astronomy and space program will feature it later and in more detail. But that’s not a mainstream show.
But the real reason is that a certain loud, bearded Billionaire being ‘first’ with his barely suborbital flight got all the attention, closely followed by Bezos.
Sadly little or no follow up on how the Bearded one has had it’s faux ‘Astronaut Wings’ removed and the FAA has grounded his ‘spaceship’ due to deviations from the agreed flight plan on the flight. Which also exposed the inherent dangers of the system he uses.

Sucks only the rich will go to space, your average person will never get his/her space dream fulfilled.
This mission helps finance the Starship development. It has to start somewhere and money is needed to scale it up and drive costs down.
The starship could carry way more people and as it is fully reusable, launch cost could be a slow as 4 Million. 30 People are an easy fit in 1000m², so 4 Million/30=$133.333 ticket price per person.
This isn’t pocket money for the average american of course, but it isn’t out of reach for most americans either.
There was a german secretary that saved 10 years to buy a 100.000€ Ferrari and fullfill her life dream.
If going to space is really your lifelong dream, with lots of saving and renunciation, you will be able to do it. It will never by a $1000 fun ride like a holiday, and it shoudln’t be, it costs an enormous amount of energy to get you up there, and it is a very, very special once in a lifetime experience. So it should be worth a lot of sacrifices if you really want to do it.
The same thing was said in the early days of commercial aviation. This is one important step to making space travel widely accessible.

This is great but I feel like the interviewer wasn’t asking the greatest questions and oftentimes cut them off to ask a follow up. Maybe just the way it was cut up in post but I was left disappointed.

Most people are not healthy or fit enough to fly into space and withstand more than 1 day of floating; and secondly, most folks can’t and won’t be able to afford to fly into space orbit. Space travel is only for the rich and just a pipe dream for the other 90% of the United States population.
