Just came from Michoacán. Here is the truth, the avocados that were being sold were not from Michoacán, they were from a different state and the inspector is probably getting paid to put on paper they are coming from Michoacán. This inspector got dirty and is part of the problem as well.

America just buries its head, ignoring the war south of our border. The cartels are no longer just “drug cartels”. They are into human trafficking, murder for hire, kidnappings for ransom, extortion of multi national companies down to taxi drivers. Even down to street vendors that barely earn enough to survive. The cartels murder thousands every year. Yet hundreds of thousands tourists from all countries still flock to Mexico. Hoping to be in the majority that don’t fall victims to the cartels and crime in Mexico. The politicians in Mexico are coerced, threatened, bought and murdered. The journalists in Mexico are murdered by the dozens every year.
What does our government do? The USA decriminalizes drugs. Increasing the demand further enriching the cartels. Our border with Mexico is a joke. Perhaps the cartels already own our politicians.
This avocado ban should be the first step. Everything, produce, trade, tourism, politicians, travel, everything connected to the cartels should be banned. Only when faced with financial disaster will the politicians be forced to take on the cartels. To do so the Mexicans will need help from the USA. Together they can stamp out the cartels only if they take off the kidd gloves.
Otherwise the victimization and murder of thousands will continue. While ignorant, uncaring and stupid tourists tan on the beaches of Mexico.
