It’s been a tough year for the restaurant industry including many fast food giants like McDonald’s, Burger King and Pizza Hut. According to Gravy Analytics, foot traffic throughout the overall fast food fast category dropped more than 50% as of December 8th, compared to February 2020. Yahoo Finance’s Brooke DiPalma shares the details with Adam Shapiro and Julia La Roche. DiPalma also weighs in on the rise of charcuterie boards.

@Luis Borges I think he’s saying that the unemployment checks will be spent on junk food, since those who have a choice to work but don’t typically don’t care for themselves physically

On my studies about McDonald’s corporation, I’ve seen that the revenue of the company is just going down since 2016, but the margins are going on the other way, which means that the earnings per share is growing up. And with the coronavirus, I think that we’ve got the intrinsic value, so it was a good time to buy and that’s just what I did. What do u think about that? And just to remember, I really like the company, its products, and the way they work.

I was with you until you said it’s a hoax. It isn’t. I’ve had it three times because I work at a grocery store and people come in wearing masks and getting right up on me, treating me like a goddamn machine. Masks help, but being an absolute pos and not respecting others just because you’ve got a mask on does absolutely nothing, and makes things worse

Good. Their food is absolutely DISGUSTING!!!! Not real beef, not real potatos and lord knows what they put in those chicken nuggets. Make your burgers, fries and chicken nuggets at home.
The only restaurants left will be those the government employees frequent because they can only afford things
Chinese food can very very healthy (not Panda Express) lots of vegetables if you’re looking for something healthy and delicious

Indoor dining keeps getting
shut down on the whims
of the governors & mayors,
who clearly don’t believe
the hypochondriacal bullshit
they’re spewing; more & more
restaurants, diners, bars, etc.
(local &/or chains) are going
out of business & those that remain
don’t/won’t/can’t operate late
&, in some cases, customers
have to stand in line outside
just to get in because everyone
is supposed to stay so far apart
from each other. When all this
crap is over (assuming it ever is),
are there going to be
any pedestrian options
still available at all???

I hope the trend continues. Buy groceries and cook at home. It’s cheaper and healthier and at least you get a little kitchen exercise in the process.
Even before the pandemic this was a problem. Company heads don’t take pride anymore. Why build a second drive thru lane and window only to not staff it? Why have computer displays when your just gonna screw orders anyway. My local Taco Bell and Rally’s is especially guilty of this. Step it up guys your better than this.
