Little fact about Lithuania. He regards the time spent under the USSR as an illegitimate occupation. Thus, legally, the lands it obtained under the USSR (including its capital Vilnius (Vilnya)) are also no longer Lithuanian. But Russia and Lithuania signed a treaty in 2004 stipulating that Russia, as the USSR’s legal successor state, recognizes Lithuania’s borders as long as there is free access to Kaliningrad. Now Lithuania has violated its agreement, which means that Lithuania will lose the Klaipeda region, which was transferred from Germany to the USSR according to the Potsdam conference, and will also lose Vilnya, which was transferred from Poland to Belarus, and only then to Lithuania by Stalin.
So yeah, after all, maybe the Soviet occupation wasn’t so bad compared to what could happen next to them.

Why russia is corperating with china
Koenigberg is Prussia and belongs to the German Empire 1871. Actually it’s Russian occupied and named Kaliningrad. As well the Lithuanian city of Klaipedia or the Prussian Memel. What actually happening is that Lithuania breaks the treaty of Potsdam, the consequences will be that Russia will take back the region around Memel/ Klaipedia. Prior the Federal Republic of Germany broke as well the treaty of Potsdam – when they sent weapons to the NAtional ZIonists in Ukraine.
Russia conquered and gained the territory during WW2, the Russians helped the British and Americans to defeat the Nazi’s and Kaliningrad was their reward.

The reality is that the eastern territories of the German Empire are still under Russian occupation and partly polish and lithuanian administration. The western part of germany know international as Federal Republic of Germany remains under NATO and EU-C occupation.

It’s laughable that Russia complains about this as a violation. Clearly it doesn’t break the transit of passengers joint declaration between Russia and the EU. And it’s clearly not a blockade as a Kaliningrad has sea access.

@fede if we are comparing the two since the start of the invasion…as was the posts intention of showing who is getting hit harder, it’s definitely the US…just look at the Ruble vs the Dollar… That was my point… US economy is bigger… But in some ways Russias is a lot stronger, much lower debt to GDP ratio…US is nearing higher imports of food now vs exports, US has a huge trade deficit..Russia has a trade surplus, etc… The point though…is that everything the US has tried to do to Russia to hurt them has actually backfired and hurt the US and Europe more.
@Garbage man Yes but actually not, you forgot that ruble is stable because European countries were forced in paying for the gas in another currency (rubles), but not for a lot since EU are now applying gas embargo. A month ago one dollar was about 140 rubles. And Russian economy is getting worse, in order for the sanctions to be effective, some time must pass. But the first sanctions effect are actually happening with the blockade of sanctioned stuff in Lithuania that were meant for Kalninigrad.

The region should go to Poland. Lithuania had three chances to have it, but denied claim to it on each occasion. Even a 50/50 split between Poland and Lithuania would be much better than the current status of Kaliningrad. Russia no longer deserves to be crammed between NATO/European Union. Too much of a risk in that area to others. They were pretty isolated from the rest of Europe before and now it’s getting worse of coarse. They’re like a big pimple in the middle of someone’s forehead. I’m sure a lot of Kaliningrad residents wouldn’t mind a positive transition to a more fluid outlook for their future by becoming part of another state. It’s time for some real change!

When Lithuania wanted to sepparate from Russia after all the abuse they went through, Russia sent tanks and special forces, they tied and executed border guards like mafia people would do. Lithuanians had nothing but their courage to defend themselves from Russians (3million population) so they decided to sing and sing until the Russians calm down, it worked.
