Why are people even flying with all the mess with the airlines. Unless it’s for work stay home and FaceTime
Lol even we are travelling to Europe next month. Honeymoon trip. Canadian airlines will hopefully do better.
Nothing will ever replace being with people and traveling
Life is short. The airlines will get this figured out
I now travel via a thing called google map. Equally satisfying.
@eb if only they had roads between my point A and B.
@eb maybe to you
Why anyone submits themselves to this nightmare is beyond understanding
Travel is amazing if done right, it shouldn’t be a nightmare but these airlines are so greedy and cheap. They are not capable of running a business and yet entitled enough to believe that they deserve bailouts and excuses for running a business badly. The sad reality is that we enable this behavior
I worked for an airline my entire life, and there were passengers that would knowingly book themselves on popular flights, especially around holidays , hoping for an over sale to get compensation, so not all passengers are that ”righteous”. There are passengers that will complain about anything and everything, hoping we’ll compensate them with free frequent flyer miles into their account. So let’s stop blaming the airlines over every little thing. I had to call passengers to tell them their credit card company wouldn’t accept the cost of the tickets. They screamed at me, shouted obscenities, you name it, I was called ignorant because obviously I didn’t know how to do my job. So yeah, the public leaves a lot to be desired. Sorry but I didn’t max out your credit card, and no, I’m not giving you free frequent flyer miles because your credit card company won’t give me an authorization code.
Sometimes people don’t have a choice
@LISA B. perhaps airlines shouldn’t oversell in the first place
Then they make a killing auctioning off peoples valuebles
There’s no way that Homeland Security can guarantee this baggage wasn’t tampered with by terrorists.
That’s crazy
Apple AirTag for the win lol
They will all end up in a warehouse in Miami and be put up for auction twice a year lol.
I’m thinking it’s just a way for the airports to make money. Or for the employees to rob the valuables and then oops! We lost the bag! No clue who stole your stuff.
TITLE OF VIDEO:
*”LAZY AND CARELESS WORKERS”*
😬😬
Or, “OVER-WORKED, UNDER-STAFFED, UNDER-PAID, TIRED, ABUSED, WORKERS.”
All by design
Staff shortages all over the place it’s not gonna get any better…
CDG airport is honestly trash
, carry on luggage is a safety issue .
Welcome to why I never check my bag.
exactly, haven’t checked a bag in 20 yrs…
Yep!
Yet, airlines are charging you about 50% more for tickets . . . 😡
And the first 2 bags used to be free.
Did you see fuel prices? Or should they transport you at a loss for them?
There are ways to do chargebacks. You’ll have to come up with a story about your card being stolen, etc.
yup that’s why I do carry on only
😳😳😳
Don’t know if this true but someone told me if bags weren’t loaded on the plane by the time it leaves they get left behind & alternate solutions are supposed to kick in to get them to their destination ASAP. Obviously the entire system has been overwhelmed due to staff shortages & an unprecedented demand by people wanting to fly again.
It feels like since the pandemic industries have become even more incompetent. It also feels like humans have become drained, can’t keep up because to much is expected.
The technology is making everything exponentially harder.
@Cynical Cindy I will definitely agree with that. If the electronics are glitching no one knows how to move on without it.
Service standard is maybe not so great? I only guess that there’s little incentive to offer good service in trying to go beyond the call of the position by being proactive and tenacious. I would imagine they feel indifferent to the trvlers’ complications with all the procedures and rules they need to maintain and follow.
The Airlines: We know we don’t have the staff to accommodate all these flights and passengers, but let’s overbook ANYWAY.
-Also the Airlines: ” Oh gee whiz, we don’t have the staff to accommodate, but nothing is our OWN FAULT”
The airlines have the staff. The problem is that the airport terminals do not, this is a problem with Heathrow not the flight companies
@littleminion5433 please. A pilot works 80 hours a month MAX. and that is rare. how many hours a month do you work ? Are you over worked if you worked 80 hours a month at over 100 bucks an hour? Plus per diem
@Eddie Novak dude, these people have hundreds of lives in their hands each day. They must stay highly alert and cannot afford any health issues. So 80 hr work month is the industry standard that allows pilots to perform their duties well. I bet you’d change your mind in a heartbeat if you found yourself in a plane flown by a pilot that worked 40 hours this week, like you did. I know YOU wouldn’t want to be on that plane.
@Snow Chan finally someone that understands how the real world works.
I know. Family member is a pilot. Very stressful job. Why they make big bucks. Some over 500k a year. And still want more money. Many at the top work 4 legs a month and making a lot. My point do they are paid well. And they still want more!
Free Apple advertising. To be fair, AirTags work well for tracking luggage.
A fckng air tag ad in the middle of the report?
We go to Rome everyday . Rome around the house , Rome around the yard ! Lol There’s other ways to travel ! Your bodies your choice !
I’m flying from east coast to west coast to scatter my aunt’s and uncle’s ashes per their request; they had no children. We don’t all travel for kicks and giggles.
Do you have any suggestions for traveling to Hawaii other than a plane.
Thanks Biden 👏
That one airport 🛫 🛬 has enough luggage 🧳 to have itself an auction!!
The “auction” will consist of the employees helping themselves to the bags’ contents.
@D. Lawrence I am being sarcastic.
But it’s hard to imagine how else airports will create space for more stuff on its way over that needs storage in short time.
What’s the point of filing complaints regarding lost luggage when the fact is this:
If there isn’t enough airline staff to handle the overwhelming amount of luggage, then, what are the chances of someone being available to answer phone calls or text?
Or how about airlines stop selling tickets to this number of ppl that they clearly can’t handle??? It’s always “we are understaffed” and never “let’s reduce the number of passengers”
@G U lol and they have the nerve to overbook a flight and then remove customers who already boarded
@G U but this is not the airline’s fault. Airport terminals are separate organizations and they’ve been severely understaffed since the pandemic. The airlines have no say in how many staff the terminal should employ. In some severe cases like it happened here in Italy after a long period of congestion, the city authorities forced the airport terminal to hire more staff and reorganize their processes. However the airlines have literally no power over these processes. All they can is send continuous reminders to the terminal to keep doing there job.
@G U Why would airlines stop selling tickets 🎟!!??!!
Why be IN business to be put OUT of business 🤔!!??!!
What travellers do with their own hard earned money should be of no else’s concern and as long as one possess his or her purchasing power – use it! As it’s not going to be available forever.
They have the money to pay people more they just don’t want to do it
I don’t know how any1 can feel safe flying with people coming all over the world. In terms of germs & disease. #AfterCovid
@D. Lawrence definitely take a science class.
I travelled from the US to Europe for a month long work trip on July 4th. My carry on bag was checked due to the flight being at capacity. I am now abroad without vital medication, incurring huge costs as a result of this incident. I am still waiting for any updates on my baggage. It has been 14 days.
@Tamalynn O’Grady this just an advice for the future, when they insist you check in your carry on, you must take out all valuable things. Always and without fail. Please remember that legally no one is 100% responsible for your valuable stuff but you.
@LISA B. His carry on had to be checked. I’ve had that happen a few times. You may want to learn how to read.
@rand mayfield they can read. They are just wandering why she didn’t take out the important items
@MissNelly Because it was supposed to be a CARRY ON BAG!! It went to checked luggage by mistake!
@rand mayfield I agree with you. (However, I think it’s HER carry on.)
I used to fly twice a week, every other week for 4 years. That was 15 years ago. I still fly occasionally and I’ve been in airports across America, including Alaska, Hawaii, and territories. There has always been one thing in common at every single airport except for Hawaii and Alaska; they employ the rudest, most ghetto people in society. And they wonder why they’re losing bags. Then let’s throw in a bunch of foreigners who speak broken English and can’t understand each other… just a hunch.
So inconvenient to not have your bag for 2 weeks of your vacation and have to buy all new everything. Especially when you go to a location that is not a holiday weather.
always do carry-on, can’t trust anybody to do protect your stuff. If you’ve got lots of clothes to take on vacay, buy those air-tight thingies that compress your clothes.
I work for an airline and the industry was fully aware this was going to happen… Untill lawsuits are issued it wont stop..
Remember to always check your baggage tickets. Because I had the ticket machine malfunction and give me the wrong ticket. It was a good thing I noticed before my bag was sent 1000 miles away.
It’s your fault for traveling in the New World Order. They don’t want you moving around.
WTF,? Now you have track your own bag. Total third world. What a phucking joke. Customer service in the west is a phucking joke. What is next? Bring your own fuel for your jet?
More tracking technologies are needed to make airlines & airports pay for their shoddy services
people i guess just expect life is going to go back to normal right away. Its not folks in case you havent noticed nothing is normal anymore and we may be in for a long haul
People pretend to not know, so really zero sympathy for them. It’s pretty obvious that you should be very careful with long distance travel at the moment.
We all know what will happen to that baggage. Airline employees will go through it all, help themselves to all the “goodies” like laptops, iPhones, jewelry, expensive clothes, etc.
Pffft.
And send to a warehouse selling the goods. I only carry underseat item now.
Put all airline execs in jail until they sort this disaster out. Jail – with a lonely cell mate.
Thanks to all the great diversity hires.
racist jacka**
Hire me !
This is terrible but is not a new problem, it also happened years ago. Another terrible thing that started happening and that we have to be alert is the NO DELIVERY of important letters to the place of destination. Consecuenses: If is a payment for a CC bill you will find out when your next bill arrives: late fee, interest charges, posibility of affecting your credit rating and if you request to your bank for a check cancellation you will get charged a fee as well. Good business?. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Not at southwest we don’t have no issue this serious
They are struggling because they don’t hire no one
If I can’t get there driving right now in just not going this is an absolute mess, which I don’t see getting fixed anytime soon.
Wise! We spent an additional 5k over this.
Just take a carry on when you travel. Problem solved. I went to Europe for two weeks and I only took a backpack.
Exactly!
This report is an invitation to thieves …
Airlines lost my luggage twice before, that was back in 2017. Since then I bought Tile tracker and put it in my luggage whenever I travel. Now I put AirTags. Haven’t had issues “yet” with luggage getting lost. But we’ll see.
I you may have just jinxed yourself.
How do tile/airtags help you exactly, yes YOU know where about your luggage is, but do they lol
@locked herself out they don’t but at least I can track where my luggage is, AND if it gets lost I can file a claim and show them exactly where the luggage is located. The tracker also helps if someone steals your luggage because unfortunately it happens. Especially with the situation now.
Hippocracy is the only foundation for conflict.
⚖⚫
This is why I don’t check vacuum seal a couple outfit a few toiletries and you’re good to go
No it’s not here! Check my AirTag smh lol they want to sell your things
I hope you enjoyed this paid commercial for air tags 👍
When will this nightmare end? Hopefully it wont take years to correct. I can imagine how much luggage will be lost i that time.
If luggage is lost due to staff shortages, then maybe airlines should lift restrictions on what can be stored in carry-on luggage. Some people need items for medical reasons which are currently not allowed…
Unfortunately, if you have something so important that you can’t lose and you put it into your luggage, you’re also at fault. I don’t know if you know but there’s a LEGAL limitation of responsibility for carriers, so anything valuable must NEVER be put into luggage. I hope more passengers educate themselves on terms and conditions of their flight service (try reading all of it, you’ll learn many things). An advice from someone that doesnt travel with luggage anymore: money, important medical devices, drugs, anything of value must be either brought with you in carry on or shipped by separate means with courier service. The airlines will never be fully responsible for losing your luggage because you’re also responsible for what you put in it.
only so much space on planes for carry on. in a lot of cases, airlines have to check bags after everyone has boarded before taking off due to the lack of overhead space.
Heathrow is THE WORST AIRPORT EVER! I have to fly in there next week on American Airlines and I’m not looking forward to it. They are organized and it’s just chaotic wherever you go in that place. I hate that airport so much.
AIR CANADA makes the news again
You know Australians are prisoners of England they sound so
Nasal and common lol but at least they found their bags
With all these mishaps yet people are still flocking to fly and travel. One can only say they deserve this. I mean why would anyone want to travel at a time like this with high ticket prices and airline staff shortages? 🤷🏻♂️
life must go on
@Amanda Cottman go right ahead. I’ll be sitting my butt at home for another year or so before I start traveling. I’m good.
Staycation works for me. Love it. I’ve traveled all over the world. I’m done.
Yeah traveling abroad for me will be planned at least 2 years from now. I’m good with traveling by car to nearby cities and countries. On the plus side, got to explore so many unknown gems in my area!
@Abc Xyz that’s awesome.
People make mistakes to learn from them…
When is the learning part???
I don’t care about how the airlines struggle with luggage due to employee shortage BECAUSE you pay them 35$ or more per bag!! Get back to free check ins and charge for over bags!! Your greed in not paying your people what they are worth has culminated to chaos!! ALL AIRLINES CEOS needs to stop being greedy
This is why I don’t check luggage.
Never pack more than you can put in a carry on. You’re going to go to shops when you get there so why take all that crap with you??? Not real bright.
Why did you assume everyone is going for vacation
If they cancel your flight, they need to take your bags off of the plane right then and give them to you. They cause their own issues by holding onto them and their outdated handling.
airtags are awesome because anytime ANY Apple device is within proximity it will send your Airtag’s unique id and location to the Apple servers… given the sheer number of iPhones around there is a huge chance that your luggage will be located
Stop abusing your workers, paying them so little, robbing them of their savings through inflation, overworking them, and looking at them like a commodity then you won’t have these problems. Air tag is not the solution. Mankind are awfully mean to each other and then they get upset when no one is there to sort their luggage. Pay more and stop robbing people of their savings and stop living like slaves only having enough to get by in life.
I only do carry-on!!! 🧳
Best promotion for AirTag ever
Solution. Travel as light as possible, only carry ons. Do some research online on where you can buy cheap clothes and toiletries at destination.
Only problem would be space in overhead bins. People will hogging more space, making it near impossible to find place for your carry ons.
WTF!!!…How can this be?
HORRIBLE
nah!!!…no excuses for this…and they just found away for ppl to spend more money. all these yrs never saw such disgusting crap
They need to stop scheduling all these flights when they know their are no workers!!! They know what’s going on and they are taking peoples money 💰🤬
Airport terminals do not belong to the airlines, sorry you didn’t know that.
@Abc Xyz what does that have to do with anything
you can track anyone today
There probably putting any COVID or something else since there keeping bags from people all over the world it wouldn’t surprise me if that happens
Disgusting. Greedy airlines need to give everyone a raise.
Product placement
So let’s see – Airlines make up to $5.1 Billion that’s right Billion Dollars a year for charging travelers baggage fee’s yet they loose the luggage & for the most part have employees that really don’t give a dam and CEO’s making 1000% bigger bonuses yea I’m not traveling any time soon .
The terminals are not the airline’s staff. Airport terminals are separate companies and the airlines do not boss them around.
Air tag advertisement
Stay in the US. That would work great for you – not losing your luggage – and for us Europeans who want to travel within Europe. This until this thing gets settled.
Why is anyone flying any more? Why why why?? What is it that you think you are missing so badly? You can talk to your friends and relatives on the phone. Oh, your spoiled children need to go to Disneyland? Too bad. How about pitching a tent in the back yard and making a camp fire, build some good memories that aren’t centered around the stress and hassle of air travel, lost luggage, rude airline employees, crying children, missed flights? My family actually went entire summers without flying anywhere when I was a kid. Oh, horrors to today’s parents. They want it all. And everything should run perfectly. Yeah in a perfect world it should but these are new times. When the airlines turn to crap, close your wallet, stay home.
Ok, boomer.
Just use AirTag
Yrs ago my family flew back from Germany and they lost 1 bag. The airline found it and delivered it to us by cab.
This is a great Apple commercial! Really good on promoting the air tag. 👏🏼 😆
Carry-on only.
There is no reason to check, and then lose your bag. Carryon size bags and backpacks are the only way to go. Dont have to pay a check bag fee, then spend an hour looking for your bag on arrival. When I land, I grab my backpack from under the seat in front of me, and walk by the carousel, laughing at everyone complaining about their backage.I can travel for a month at a time with carryon only.
But Tamara had to travel ..she just couldn’t stay home at least this summer!…
Lesson learned all meds with you not luggage that could potentially be checked or put beneath the plane.
I’ve traveled extensively mostly overseas. I travel light with only one restriction compliant carry on item. What ever I need I get when I arrive and then jettison when I leave. My number one travel rule is: Never have anything that if it gets lost, stolen, or destroyed, that it ruins your day let alone your vacation. Once, when my backpack was flagged by Canadian customs and taken to be inspected, I knew I probably wouldn’t see it again so I smiled, said goodbye, and carried on. Four months later after returning from Southeast Asia, I get a call at work from the airlines saying that it had been found and was left with my nextdoor neighbor. It didn’t matter one way or the other because there was nothing in it of high value. Lol
All those people that pay full price for airline tickets only to have personals left!
Does someone have a link where I can buy such a GPS tracker?
Literally my on Thursday. The guy said my bag was still in Miami so I literally showed him my phone that says Charlotte. You can track your bags on most airline apps btw. Like delta and AA
I’m so glad I don’t fly anymore!
I guess people don’t want to work at an unstable job where they can be randomly laid off whenever a random virus appears, I don’t blame them
Idk HOW THIS HAPPENS
LOAD THE LUGGAGE WHEN THE PERSON BOARDS!
Take direct flight if possible, and don’t check any bag while doing connecting flight.
Put a claim against your credit card for what you paid for and tell them you never got the service you paid for and don’t pay the tix price.
Airtags sales 📈
2:55 eye candy 😍
Its the air lines fault they need to train the employees on airport abbreviations
When people can make more money video taping playing video games at home they don’t need to go to work and get paid nearly nothing.
