I think the global powers will now finally start to take climate change seriously now that it is beginning to affect them. The global south has been raising the alarm but they did not seem to be in a rush to fix the issue. “Heatwave and drought in London!? Unacceptable!”. “No water in Texas!? We can’t take it”. As a PhD student from India in macro economy I expect good times for Chinese economy in long term, I see that once the dust of post pandemic recession settles all the stimulus (assuming high intrest rates are temporary) will kick in consumption so it will add lots of pressure on Chinese industries, so if China can sort out it’s energy issues, zero covid policy and some geopolitical issues it can capitalise and definitely a good time for Chinese economy. So I think for 2023 we can easily expect 5-7% growth from China if they use the opportunity.
