A hotel in Suceava, Romania, has turned its lavish ballroom into a makeshift shelter for more than 2,000 refugees who have fled Ukraine since the Russian began its invasion. According to the U.N., more than 1.7 million people have fled Ukraine in the last 10 days, making it the swiftest refugee exodus so far this century.

I remember in 2014 when Russia took Crimea during the Ukrainian riots. Surrounding countries closed their borders to prevent Russia from invading them. Romania was first to allow Ukrainian refugees. Romania is a small country as far as counties go, but it has some of the most amazing history for over 2,000 years. Romanian people are warm, open, and honest.

The European Union Council has already approved funding for Romanian hotels to pay for refugees from Ukraine rooms. A tourist season no one expected. Capitalism at it’s best. EU law with price controls and a free debit card for every refugee coming from Ukraine this month with 1500 Euro a month for 3 months. The very least we can do as European soldiers wisely refuse to Invade Russia in the winter.

Already in some parts the kids go to schools and some of Ukranien’s found good jobs.
