When I first opened a brokerage account I was unaware of some of the fine details and consequently ended up creating an account that did not match with my needs. Don’t worry if you are a kid you can still open a brokerage account and start trading stocks! I opened my first brokerage account in 2009 when the entire economy was in the toilet. what if your from the UK? can you still use this?
I am pretty sure you can but it’s probably not called TD Ameritrade. It’s probably some other form of TD. The UK also has different laws and regulations so I would assume some of the application would be different as well.
and btw you should do a video on different things such as explaining ETF’S, Bonds, Options, Futures

Hey great video! Just one quick question, do you have to be a citizen to open an account and trade. I am neither a citizen nor a resident but I do have a SSN
+elperrodelace from my understanding as long as you have a ssn or tax id you should be able to trade U.S. stocks. I am not an expert on this but I think you should be able to set up an account hopefully with TD, otherwise possibly an international broker would work. Best of luck to you!!

Cash account means you can’t short stocks or use margin. Which also means you have to wait for T+3 each time you sell a stock.

Same thing happened to me! I just don’t feel comfortable sending a copy of my social security through the mail. Did your problem get solved?
Craig Willis yes i did. They said that most people under 25 years old need to send a copy of their social security cards because they don’t have enough credit history to be checked.
And after I sent them a copy of it, they asked me to send them a copy of may green card too because I’m not a citizen yet. I should get my account next week if everything is ok. It’s taking much longer than I thought 😩

If I buy stocks with TD Ameritrade, I know there is a $6.95 fee. If I buy 10 stocks of the same company in one transaction would it cost me $6.95 or $69.50?
No. It’s a flat fee. They charge 6.95 every time you buy or sell a bulk amount of stock.
Tip: if you constantly trade stocks everyday, you can ask TD Ameritrade for credit and they’ll lower your commission fee.
@Jason Aurelius would it make more sense to buy 10 shares of a stock and get charged 6.95 total for those 10 shares?

Good grief, how many times you have to tell people to do it right…who are your subs? I did not give you a thumbs down but I was tempted because you didnt go over what people might really want to know, how much money to open, fees, etc, not how to put your name in.
Do not create a TD Ameritrade account!!! I reappear do not create a TD Ameritrade account, I got scammed by them. I deposited $30,000 and they refused to let me withdraw my cash.
That’s how it works. It’s a savings account basically.
