While some European countries like Finland have closed their borders for Russian tourists, others like Germany are offering those who refuse to fight in the Ukraine war, the chance to apply for asylum.
More than 60,000 Russians entered the EU in the week after president Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilization.
EU members are divided between a willingness to support opponents of Vladimir Putin and fears over security.

I don’t like Russia as an Albanian because we have mini Russia in Balkan which is Serbia. Serbia has done war crimes in Yugoslavia. So what you see Russia doing in Ukraine was done by Serbia in the 1990s. When it comes to a soldier in Russia who says I do not want to fight and leaves Russia, he should be given status to stay. Maybe there has to be created a new law which allows soldiers like those from Russia to stay in EU. After all, they don’t want to kill Ukraine people and that means good. So good Russia people don’t fight Putin war. Bad Russians are staying and going to war.
Some of those staying do not have the opportunity to leave, or were not allowed to leave even when already waiting for boarder crossing. And some of those leaving, have nothing against the war in Ukraine, but they just want someone else to do the job.

So I’m a bit confused and have mixed feelings. All I want and pray for is for Ukraine to win the war and get it’s land back. I strongly feel the pain Ukraine is going through as I too was in war and thanks to America and Nato we survived.

I think they should only be allowed here temporarily, and that they must return to Russia once the war is over. Also, that one of the conditions Russia must agree to in order to achieve officially recognised peace is for Russia to hold immediate elections with UN-sanctioned observers present, and from which any of those wanted for war crimes are barred from standing as candidates – for life. As someone has already pointed out below, if they don’t wish to fight for Russia in a bad cause, perhaps they could fight within Russia for a good cause – that of getting shot of Putin’s criminal regime.

It’s doesn’t work like that. In Russia when you are 18 you are call by the army to do a 1 year service. You will not to do it if: you have severe health issue or you are at the university.
For the university part once you finish it you will be call again until 27

After a couple of months, many of these people returned home. Probably because it’s tricky to find a legal way to stay in a foreign country for longer than ~60 days. This time, many more people are leaving, which will cause an even bigger impact, draining Russia’s resources. Hopefully, these people will be able to stay outside Russia for longer as a way to sabotage what our government is doing.
