Germany has been accused of aiding and abetting genocide in Gaza, in a case before the UN’s top court in The Hague, Netherlands. It was brought by Nicaragua and calls for emergency measures to stop Germany from selling weapons to Israel. It also wants Berlin to restore funding to the UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA. Ukraine war: Russia says it captured German tanks in Zaporizhzhia

Russia says its troops on Saturday captured several Ukrainian armoured vehicles and tanks while repelling a counter-offensive in Zaporizhzhia. Dozens evacuated as smoke from Hamburg fire halts trains

Police and the fire department have warned people in Hamburg, Germany, to close their windows after a large fire engulfed several warehouses and sent black, chemical-laden smoke drifting over the city. About 140 people were evacuated on Sunday, and it is not yet clear how dangerous the situation is, a police spokesperson said. A fire department spokesperson said it had reduced the threat level somewhat even though the fire was still burning at midday (10:00 GMT) but that people should remain indoors with their windows closed.
