The proposed demolition of a dam in northern France has divided environmentalists.
Some say removing the Vezins Dam in Normandy will restore life to the Selune River. But others want it restored for hydroelectric power.

To live in a minimum of comfort the human being is obliged to sacrifice nature !
why wouldn’t they just leave it but make a 10m2 hole to the bottom. Much cheaper, and if they ever need it again easy to restore.
“Built nearly a century ago”… old dams can become unstable.
So they can create floods and blame it on global warming and climate change, then raise taxes to “save” the planet.
@Eric Von Oooohh look out everyone, we got a ” woke ” conspiracy theorist! Flex like David Icke!!!!!!
Ou est la démotion meeeerde j’ai attendu une minute !!!!!
I don’t want to live for America anymore. In going to kill myself to innate the total destruction of them all
Typical green think. They are simply copying the Americans .Once the Dam has gone, the kilometers of stinking bottom mud will remind those who live in the area to pay more attention to those they elect into government. And isn’t it typical? they speak of fish returning as if the Salmon will all say to each other.”hey the dam is gone,we can now swim up the river…” It’s the same line put forward where ever greens want to destroy a dam . The green spokesman said it though”European Rules dictate to them if they are producing enough power…” Simpletons all.
the salmon is watching this video. They will return next autumn
slow and subtle detonations can help the problem with the large amounts of sediment
Какой-то херней занимаются.
How long is gonna take to demolish?
Let’s hope it doesn’t end in flooding….
India should destroy Farakka and Tista dam
Be careful. Your bitterness will have an adverse affect on your health.
@Vincent C Bro farakka dam not only harmful for Bangladesh but also for India.
@FAHAD KHAN OVI Lets hope and pray that no mishap occurs and that the Governments of India and Bangladesh can sort out water issues.
But then it will cause water scarcity
Bangladesh has plenty rivers , it called country of rivers but their govt does not manage waterproperly
Natasha Butler ,do you know an Engineer named Arthur Butler built a bridge in our village in British India ,that was completed in 1910
Good Journalism. Views pro and con. No opinion inserted per journalists’ agenda. Objective. People of the past experienced problems leading to the construction of the dam. Perhaps simply removing the dam would bring back the old problems. Perhaps the dam’s ‘solutions’ are worse then the original problems that led to it. At least the presentation is balanced.
The lake has already been drained, just the dam remains? Seems like this is a non issue.
