Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing 17 people in the 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The sentencing comes after days of emotional statements from victims’ family members. NBC News’ Sam Brock reports.

As HORRIFIC as what Cruz did, he will now have the rest of his life to think about it EVERY MINUTE IF EVERY DAY for the rest of his life sitting in a small jail cell. He wanted to die as an easy and quick way out, his sentence may be a bit light, but he will still have to face the consequences of his actions in that small cell for the rest of his days on earth.
My heart truly goes out to the families of the victims involved and hope they can fine some solace in knowing this animal is locked away from society for the rest of his life, and God will be the one to give him final judgement at the end of his days on earth.
Yay now he gets to live off of the tax payers the rest of his life.

This case will change the death penalty laws in Florida to ensure people like Nikolas will be sentenced appropriately if they go on a shooting spree.
His reaction was the parents reaction, he was soaking it all in, he didn’t need to do anything other than to remove his mask to egg them on like ” see he obeys us ” when in fact they are obeying him. He made the Juniors suffer he made the Parents suffer, and until he dies they will continue to suffer, a master plan. The Parents should never have showed up giving or taking away the final moment of Nicholas to see and hear the suffering, imagine the Court Room near empty, his ego shattered. The Parents knew the sentence 20 life no parole etc…. Well, now its game on in the big house, the Parents will no doubt assemble outside whichever prison he dies in to nail the coffin shut, then move forward….

I think he should have gotten the death penalty just like all mass shooters should, but the next best thing is life without parole. Knowing he will never step foot out of prison s somewhat comforting. I do understand the parents wanting the death penalty and feeling like justice was not served because he didn’t get it.

The death sentence is an easy out for this monster. And unfortunately, it’s not the closure that people think it will be. Let him sit and rot in prison until he dies. He’s a child killer. They are not looked upon favorably by the incarcerated population. Think about him living in constant fear (white, 24, 5’7″) never knowing safety. Or perhaps he will be in an isolation cell with an hour each day alone in the prison yard.

The families of the victims showed tremendous strength to have tolerated watching those defense attorneys work exceptionally hard in an attempt to portray that beast as some sort of poor little lost soul who had such a terrible life.
It’s mind boggling how public defenders rarely work that hard to defend evil, yet these vile humans spared no expense of the taxpayers dime to defend this evil beast.
If they work that hard for a guilty person, we should rest assured they are working that hard for the wrongly accused.

Actually, there was one moment of emotion, when a victim’s girlfriend told him she was worried for him in class and felt compassion for him at the time. Then, he signed a huge one, the only time he showed any movement, emotion.

The taxes on my income that I worked for all my adult life and continue to pay on my retirement income will keep you alive so that you can enjoy a warm bunk to sleep in at night, enjoy free dental and health benefits (my health benefits cost my $1000 a month), enjoy free cable TV, three square meals a day, and everything else my taxes give to you free of charge for the rest of your natural life.
