I wanted Elizabeth Warren to win when she ran for president. She would have been a much better president during COVID, and during the race tensions after George Floyd’s death and big pharma would have been straightened out with her leadership. Regardless of the subsequent breaks between Trump and individual members of the Republican party, the December 20, 2017 conference left the Republican party in debt to credibility. This was an enabler for Trump that directly led to Republicans jumping on the Election fraud bandwagon and January 6. If Russia wants discord and American action paralyzed by division, they got it. It is not ok to have the moral equivalent of a mafia family in the Whitehouse. It was not ok for Richard Nixon. It’s not ok for Donald Trump. We cannot close our eyes, skip this and look to the “future”. If we value freedom and democracy, we have much work to do. This was a failure of our government. We can never drop this.

Regarding both Senators Cassidy and Warren, my take away from this election is that we are tired of the bi-partisan trench digging and obstructionism. You figure out which party is which. Speaking for myself, I am confused as to why the simple concept of talk out the best policy to solve a problem and then enact it. Citizen’s United is probably the first place to look at. Regardless of what the Supreme Court says, enact election reform, voting rights and stop talking about helping the working class and just do it. Nobody should be emboldened by this election. The nation is still divided. It is our elected official’s responsibility to provide the foundation for the nation to come together.
