Don’t negotiate for more money don’t make jobs compete just work and be happy to have a job and be competent too much stupid people work with others who understands shit makes them have to work way harder
If you look deeper into the unemployment numbers you’ll see that 90% of all job creation in the U.S. are part time and gig economy jobs. There are very few newly created full time jobs and careers that provide a stable living these days without people needing to work two or three jobs.
The unemployment number is very misleading.
Plus, you stop being counted as “unemployed” once you stop actively looking for a job, for whatever reason. It’s nuts.
2 million people went on disability in 2008 and many more are no longer counted
Unemployment number is a lie if you look at how they calculate it they knock you off the list after x months of you not having/looking for a job if you looks at the labor force participation rate it only 64%
i always roll my eyes whenever i hear we have the lowest unemployment rate ever
Instead of looking at unemployment rate you should look at the opposite metric which is employment rate, more specifically full time employment rate
Try giving some money to charity tithe
Yay!! You shouted out 2cents ! I love their channel.
You grow your own food as much as you can to save money. In the winter, you can, freeze, and dry your food.
Ask for more. Libraries. ☀️
Closed mouths don’t get fed lol
Remember the moment when you saw your yearly salary rate and got super excited. Then you get your first pay check and realize that *TAX* is a real thing. lol oh boy *the* *grind* *becomes* *real* =)
i just started my first full time job a month ago and i was shocked at how much taxes were being taken of my paycheck, i was so crushed lol
@Kylie Finstad haha I totally understand that. =)
💯💯💯 nice vid
You might forget step nr 1. How to get paid?
Today I get paid perfect 👌🏼
Haha in Germany you Never ask this and work 30 years the most in my company but I leave after 3 years and I’m 19
I remember when I ask for a raise after 2 years of service at my last job, it ended up to be my last job😟😢

‘Buy something only when you can pay for it twice’Jayz
Should be 5 times
I wish I could follow the first rule. The unemployment rate in my country is almost 12% kkkkkkk (I’m laughing of sadness)
I’m a government employee. I got a 6% raise a week ago lol
Never go to the store hungry
Or horny
Or alive
Or sleepy
@Nate O-Brien – I really appreciate what you are doing. There are so many videos out there that I’ve watched and in the end I just realized that there was no solid info, that it was rather a marketing strategy in order to make you buy some kind of product. There is a lot of common sense in what you say, no b.s. Your explanations are clear, the examples you give are relevant. Also, it is useful and nice that you share your personal experiences. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Dnt go to Starbucks or coffee bean that’s a waste of money but I get it the social aspect and the hot slimmies/hot babes they go there well at least not every single day😂

Consider your job hunt to be a full time job. I’ve been there, and so have many others. Apply to 100 jobs a day and try to upgrade your skills for free. Best of luck.

Hey Nate! Love your channel, Greetings from Switzerland! One dumb question for you? Where do you buy all this sweaters? They are great and really versatile 🙂 Just keep going with the great job 🙂
I remember he said, buys them at Walmart and amazon the price of $5
Nice shout out on the CLEP!
If you get fired for (reasonably) asking for a raise, take it as a blessing.
3.7 percent of unemployed. That number is false because it counts minimum wage crappy jobs . Not to mention it counts high degrees jobs as well which is a problem of its own
I was thinking the same thing, lol
Actually I should never ask for a raise. Because I will get fired if I do.
If I listened to him on that one I will be homeless. But rest of his information is ok.
The dotted line is a BIG ONE. I signed a 6 month contract at a gym which cost me $300 a month at 18. This was an emotional decision that crippled me big time while I was a young student. Stupidest thing I ever did.
I think you’re GREAT!!😎
This dude is so wise especially since he looks less than 21
Less than 21? I would call early 20s. If he is older, then he has looked after himself well!
He look like a guy in his twenties because he is in his twenties.
He’s 21
The simple thing to do is to pay yourself first, transfer an amount of money to another savings account immediately. Then manage the rest, if by the next payment there is money left transfer that money too.
If you trying to get into any retail, restaurant job good luck negotiating yearly pay, next thing you know that phone aint ringin and you arent going to orientation next week lmao, unless u going for management or something maybe that’d work then

“a closed mouth doesn’t get fed.”
a closed mouth also doesnt get punched
I asked for a raise and they told me I’d need to wait until my performance review 5 months later. Then I got a cost of living raise two months ago since the company decided to start giving everyone the annual cost of living raise in September. I guess I’ll ask about the merit-based raise during my next performance review, but I have a feeling they’ll make up some excuse not to pay up -_-
I’m currently looking through my Mint account and trying to find out how much I’ve spent on home improvement in the past several months. I’m almost done with my home renovation and it looks like I’m going to stay within my budget!
Hi, Nate! I’m curious what your thoughts are about clothing.
7. Don’t accept the initial salary. If I don’t accept it, somebody else will. With few exceptions, nobody produces anything nowadays in the US and Europe,. Most of us are paid to stare at a computer screen all day long or to walk some merchandise from here to there, so there’s no productive base for a raise.
2. Pay for overpriced information. I’ve never paid anything for my education. I have learnt English from suckers who speak to me or make vids for me to watch for free.:)
1. Buy gold. You can’t sell gold for certain, but just 24K gold and just to the bank where you bought it from and just if you keep it there in that bank all along and just for about 2/3 of what you initially paid for it. Used gold doesn’t retain its value. It’s better than random purchases, but still it’s kind of money wasted down a rat hole.
I agree with 6, 5, 4, 3.
Payday loans wouldn’t exist if people knew how to save money.
Have you ever had a job
It’s crazy how many don’t realize that information if free, especially when the internet is as widespread as it is today
To avoid impulse purchases, especially for expensive items, be willing to save $100 a week for the number of weeks to save the full amount and then hold on to the money, in cash, for an additional week. Looking at the cash for a whole week will really force you to decide if you really should buy the item.
Now I know why I like your channel. You are a CLEPer too!
CLEP tests really are amazing if you want to save time and money in your education, especially if you are already an independent learner. With the vouchers from Modern States, it is possible to take CLEP tests for free — free college credit.
I just had a college professor tell a class of teenagers that eating out is just as costly as eating at home🤣 I almost passed out in class. What are they eating at their house? You can eat good meals for under 80 bucks per 2 weeks if you plan ahead.
Book Warm Tee you can eat $30-40 priced steak dinners for $5-10 at home and chicken will be $1-2 idk how people say eating at home is so expensive.
I hate payday loans because they claim to be helping people but instead, they are predatory and keep people in poverty
The phrase is “Ask and ye shall recieve”
Awesome video. Thanks!
One important note to add: you talked about value and depreciation then used gold jewellery as an example. So versus a car, the jewellery is surely a better thing to buy? Not always true. You have to consider personal value. Do you really want that jewellery? Will it make you happier? Will you still like it in a years time? A nice car, as a hobby, could be worth more in personal value. So think about if you’ll still be glad you bought something in a years time.
Damn no gambling wtf now you tell me
good video Nate, also on the house rental agreements etc, when I first moved out of home years ago I got introducted to a payment period called ‘calendar monthly” ….effectively instead of paying by normal monthly date etc, the leasing agent worked it out to payments based upon a standard 28 day month, resulted in your actual monthly payment figure being higher that it looks on paper, but it not being crystal clear to the new punter.
2:09 closed mouths don’t eat
I made myself a rule for spontaneous purchases…They have to be in cash, so now I have to decide if it’s worth going to the bank, waiting in line, taking the money out and then going all the way back to the store to buy it. Usually I realize I don’t have time for that so I don’t buy it.
Could you do a more global advise ki d of thing? Most of this things would work Americans, for example in Argentina if you ask for more money you won’t get the jod for sufey
Is saving $400 a month a good start if I make $3000 a month?
Bad idea to go to work and ask for a dollar or $2 more an hour. Instead, know what you’re worth, have a specific figure in mind that you should be paid, and be able to make a case for it. Leave for a higher paying job if you don’t get your raise. If you can’t find a higher paying job, you don’t deserve the raise. If you just ask for “a dollar” more your boss will be able to tell that you pulled that number straight for your ass and he’ll just say no if he’s smart.
You must love the winter 😂

Ofcourse you do.
How do you only spend $30 to $40 a week on food and still eat healthy? I spent about $150 per month on food cause I eat organic.
If you buy food for yourself you should be able to just use 150$ every two weeks .
1:00 lol not anymore
Your channel is my inspo for real 🙂
There are times people don’t know about something that will cost them until it’s too late, so they plan ahead to use their upcoming pay to pay for it.
There are times it’s relevant to save to buy something specific, such as a stereo, skateboard, surfboard. Such things as a vehicle, are – or can be, a necessity. Public transportation means more money spent on transportation than if you have a vehicle. If ‘the money game’ is played correctly then public transportation can be used while saving to buy a vehicle. Those that live alone, if/when they need to do to a doctor appointment or maybe to the hospital for a procedure/surgery that might prevent them from driving for a while either need to get a relative or friend to bring them to where they need to go just to get there and not have to leave their vehicle there, which wouldn’t be smart – then they also need someone to bring them back home. If they have no relative/friend to do this then they need public transportation or something such as Uber/Lyft.
Thanks
Yea… the economy is great.
Hay Nate the saying is “you have not cause you ask not”
me watching pretending the monthly allowance i get from my mom is a paycheck. lol I wanna handle my allowance better
I borrowed a payday loan 15 years ago. *Borrow $50, owe them $90* .
People get paid on Thursday because the company is hoping you will buy groceries and gasoline on Friday before you spend all day on Saturday on Sunday spending money on foolishness.
Looks like at least some of your content has become irrelevant in the new world we live in since 2020 especially trying to earn interest on savings unless your into risky hedge funds
“The unemployment rate is the lowest it’s ever been. We have the upper hand when negotiating.”
2020: hold my beer.
Grow your food. Yes it’s a luxury for some but if it’s possible for you, do it. It’s such an investment that keeps on giving. On winter, learn how to can, freeze or dehydrate your food. Such a great investment that will allow you to be more comfortable long term and not depend on the supply chain. Also, the environmental effect is amazing.
Y’all guys get payed??
Payday loans R loan sharks…
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
🤩🤩🙌🙌❤️❤️
Bad advice about not paying for education. You are talking about thousands of books You have in library, do you know how much time You have to spend for so many books? Time Is money
I don’t eat breakfast or lunch because after rent and insurance I have 30 dollars left over I eat ramen eggs and vegetables every night and all my 30 dollars is gone at the end of the week I don’t know how to get out of this hole without starving myself for a couple weeks just to save some money I can’t get a better job or cheaper rent I am stuck
