Great wisdom from Satya.. !
A beautiful mind

hi guys,,microsoft no good,,,money beast,,,all crap what they say,,sell crap all the time,,how microsoft is good?,,,always always ask for money and their software is crap,,,hope i explained anything
microsot is not a monopoly any more, just ignore them,,,google chrome-os is super the world should get on it
microsoft fooled you all!!!!!,,,microsoft never made anything of value
If US economy is pretty robust….why the hell are u firing ppl citing macroeconomic reasons ?? Just tell them u are using “macroeconomic condition” as a false pretext to fire ppl to reduce operational cost and increase ur profits….u are just using the recession hype, to increase ur profits….
Applauds to the journalist who was persistent in getting specific answers and asked relevant questions!
Microsoft cannot be just a software company. That’s because commodity markets and ad revenue service is a huge things of services.
Yea but the replacement jobs are low quality & high volume. It would make sense if in reponse companies cut hours to increase hourly wages but they do the opposite and people do menial jobs for even lower wages. Most labelling companies are based in asia with low wages ..go figure
Well said, I am actually surprised that he used that as a balance to the challenges AI brings in concerning job sustainability. A lot of people will end up working low wage jobs, constantly being mistreated for the very same reason.
The host definitely jolted Satya with her questions – Satya clearly seemed unsettled with the persistent line of questioning.
Great interviewer. She made sure Satya answered the job cuts question. Satya looks very defensive and evasive. Just tell it like it is.
@Venwhen *If the employer is not loyal, employees will know that, and it’ll have a lasting negative effect to the company, so it’s up to Microsoft to decide.*
*Microsoft should know the difference between short term savings versus long term profits.*
*Now Satya did mention the AI and automation causing less need for humans to perferm certain tasks, but it seems like a convenient excuse for the sudden massive tech layoffs.*
*Come on. The main reason is the choppy economy and fear of recession at present. So stop lying!*
@Xi Zheng he didn’t say that he said that it is the general perception that AI would cause job losses but reality was opposite of that. No matter how you slice it you cannot have employees unless you have sufficient business justification. Otherwise we are back to union days and another Detroit in the making
@Xi Zheng ok who said otherwise? Everyone knows that. How is this an epiphany?
@Venwhen 🙄
He actually answers it in a very matured manner. And he said it as clearly as possible – if you’re not smart enough to read between the tea leaves, sharpen your brains.
Job cuts are likely dependent on interest rate hikes, higher they are the worse off tech and big business will be
This interviewer could be more effective..better to stick to one topic in depth than skipping from one to next..asking about job cuts is ok but what more is needed as an answer beyond that they will manage operating income
Satya always gets away with wishy washy answers , good to see interviewer bringing him back to the point
Great job beeing a data labler. The new generation of slaves that AI is suposed to replace. Mankind is skrewed
So does mainstream labelor job pays same as software engineer?
Satya learned to hide!!! Love him but this was typical CEO response
Volume too low
There’s no slowing growth in tech or the transportation industry. This is a coordinated attack on the American economy and work force. Both tech and the transportation industry have posted billions in profit the last 3 years at record pace and levels. The companies at the ports are making money hand over fist. The same goes for the freight train conglomerates like Sante fe Burlington and union pacific. Ever major tech company has posted billions more than expected or projected in profits. They’re lying to you.
If he weren’t a tech CEO, he would be a great politician
What a pointless interview
“….every industry is in need of software engineers”
Translation: the folks he’s going to fire will probably be fine. Just not in traditional big tech
Reduction is jobs due to increase in productivity as more and more employees are working from home and contributing more….
What BS.
Job cuts are part of business cycles. Jobs are jobs and there should be no surprise that we are in bad business cycle.
Everyone, literally everyone is replaceable.
People will get laid off at least 1 or 2 times in their lifetime.
I’m 2 minutes into this video and have no idea what this dude’s answer has to do with the interviewer’s question…what does creating more jobs in the future have to do with current job cuts that are caused by the economy. We just wanna know if you plan on laying off more workers bruh.
In other words there will be layoffs..
This guy is pretty good at lying
He did not answer a single question , he evaded tough questions and lied like a politician
*Satya is a damn good CEO! Kind, but doesn’t shy away from being shrewd*
He has been trained well.
Satya knows fancy ways of saying a simple “yes”
Still remember this is the CEO that tolerated sexual harassment and discrimination – like Alex Kipman
Cut his Job first. HE’s earned enough billions enough for 3 generations, others must have it now.
He sounds like a lunatic!
