My opinion: maybe because the US in particular and the West in general are exhausted with their own political model, e.g. political infighting (multi-party), disinformation, debate all day long… They can’t be silent and calm and able to think hundreds of years ahead.
Saudi’s main security concern is Iran. With China as partner Saudi can feel quite safe now since China is Iran’s banker, it’s only banker. Frankly Saudi doesn’t really need the US any more. Last year there was a major drone strike on a Saudi oil facility and the American system didn’t see it coming, didn’t shot down a single thing when it struck, and didn’t even know which way the drones came from or left to.
China anti drone laser is good enough to detect and shoot down iranian drone. It is extremely cost effective and yet more accurate than US Patriotic Air missile which cost many hundred dollars each but not able to shoot down drone.

Iran is actually opposed to Saudi ties with west due to the sanctions, by aligning with China and Russia, Saudi would be helpful in undermining sanctions

China and Middle East countries went back more than 2,000 years. They were all trading partners since then. Goods and products were transported by camels, horses, and donkeys in those old days traveling along the silk road. Since more than 2,000 years till today, China never has any conflict with any Middle East country. Can anyone tell which Middle East country and China has fought a war before or ever fire a single shoot at each other?

When the President of USA deign to visit an Arab country, he appears like the leader of a gang of thieves and murderers and he tries to impose his will by force if necessary. This kind of interaction frightens the Arab country who must either submit to the will of USA or face punishment by way of invasion, bombing and sanctions.
