Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury discusses production of its A320 jet — the “direct competitor” to Boeing’s grounded 737 Max plane.
Yes I am
It is impressive how strategic Airbus and Boeing are when discussing the other. They will never, ever, ever speak ill of the other.
They basically need each other because they both understand that if they want to keep being the biggest manufacturers of airplanes and keep other competitors away, they need to more or less share the market and that cannot happen if one of them run into severe problems. At the end of the day, none of them can expand their manufacturing capacity just like that. It will take huge investments and time to take over a major share from either and the risk would be too high so both Boeing and Airbus probably prefer the current balance to stay in place.
I hope airbus and Boeing never merge into one company.
@Forza223 Bowe They can’t. Even now both need each other. If the other wouldn’t exist or would stop to exist, the other would be immediately be subject to break up due to monopoly control. For same reason they can never merge. Competition authorities simply wouldn’t green light the merger. It is straight out creating monopoly on large passenger airliners and that goes against every nations anti-monopoly rules.
They might have to, one day. China, you know.
Airbus for the win will Boeing make a come back stay tuned.
Competition is grounded and Airbus cant find a way to make more to meet demands?
its not easy to just start new line or increase production of such complicated machines as todays aircraft are.
Its massively complicated to increase production. Say Airbus make 50 A320 a month and they wanted to increase it to 100. They’d have to contact all the suppliers to see if they could increase their production. When you go through the whole production tree it would mean companies taking on new staff, training these staff, being audited by EASA to make sure they are capable of the increase. Even an increase of 10% is really difficult and requires major medium term planning. And any increase would have to be done with absolutely no impact on the total quality.
Airbus always copy Boeing
They got there first with the neo mate.
Yes correct! That’s the reaso Boeing were force to rush 737 Max. Thay play “catch up”all the time
Boeing made the 737 max to compete with the Airbus A320neo
Yes, I hear that Airbus is going to fit MCAS with only one input
