A lawyer for Peru’s former President Pedro Castillo has told Al Jazeera he is willing to give up his demand to be reinstated if it will stop protests that have swept the country.
Castillo was impeached and arrested on charges of rebellion and conspiracy this month.
Protesters have been demanding his release and early elections.

The US embassy orchestrated this coup against President Castillo. Look at the ambassador (she is CIA) and the MAAG coordinating with the Peruvian military against Castillo. Now the subsequent bloodbaths hardly get any play on the mainstream media after the puppet regime has been installed.

It’s strange when a sitting president of a sovereign nation is accused of a coup or rebellion while in office. Was he ousted because he was too leftist for the establishment? In a country that’s so corrupt, I doubt corruption would work as a convincing excuse to arrest and oust a democratically-elected politician.

From President to prison without due process. The U.S. has just finished a third “impeachment” to Mr. Trump, and after all the accusations, the justice department has to go through a lot more steps to apply justice. The Peruvian Congress broke their laws when they incarcerated President Castillo without the corresponding process and no formal, acknowledged resignation, therefore, he continues to be President of Peru.

I follow the politics in peru now since 7 years and is so obvious that the corrupt congress only accept a President which works in favor of the few richest people in Peru which are leading the congress behind closed doors… Castillo is an School teacher but his family were poor indigenous people and he wants to lead in favour of the people of Peru which elected him and not only the most rich. So the Congress blocked everything he wanted to do so it was impossible for him to work as president. Boluarte is una traidora and the people of Peru are on the streets to support President Castillo which is the voice of the real Peru!
