The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation known as Freddie Mac estimates the country needs an additional 3.8 million housing units.
Homeless shelters overflow in many places and that means those with criminal records and mental health issues are more likely to end up on the streets.

Most of the homeless are drug addicts and/or mentally disturbed. Getting a job in USA and settling down is one of the easiest things in the world. Its basically the lazy or mentally disturbed who refuse to do so. And America allows them the freedom to live like animals.

A lot of American cities can’t solve this problem without making major sacrifices. That’s the real shtick to the ordeal.
Take Los Angeles for example…basically the government with the community has to pour in tons of resources to build shelters, have personnel and places for those who are physically and mentally ill…and in order to have more affordable housing, they need to do more work on building apartments and other urban units rather than houses. It’s easier said than done, if they did this, so many other services, government salaries, funds for retirees will need to take a hit, as well as the property tax revenue will take a hit. This are the sacrifices LA will need to make, but it’s obvious they’re not willing to take it.

This is nothing as compared to Pakistan. Here, rich & elite army generals live in their villa while 20% of total population live in slums or on streets.
