Nationally, the rate of increase is slowing, but in some areas, rental prices are actually dropping. Experts believe renters should take advantage of the softening rental market and negotiate breaks or discounts.

The median rent in the US is around $2k/month. So a 5% drop off $2k is $100. I wouldn’t say that’s anything special…

My rent was $900 a month when the new lease came up the landlord wanted $2650 he said markets gone up so o well this was 8 months ago I was like I don’t even make that a month now i live in a van worlds gone crazy over Greed!! Its a shame….

If only the corrupt government would adjust wages accordingly. 50% rent increase should equate to 50% salary/wages increase. But there is so much corruption in the US government, they work for the corporations not the people. I got a $15k raise and a promotion a couple of months ago and thought I’d finally be back on my feet after getting laid off around the time the pandemic hit and having to stay with family, but with today’s prices, I’m still struggling to find something nice. Good news for some, but rental or mortgage prices are just one part of the puzzle, how about the increase in utilities (water, electric, etc), internet/cable/satellite, insurance prices, or other household expenses?
