I agree big-time. The economy was long, long overdue for a recession and had been propped up by the Fed and share buybacks for too long. A recession was “not allowed” to happen, interrupting the normal economic cycles. The coronavirus, while serious as a health issue, was simply the pin that pricked massively overvalued equities.

I can’t believe all this is happening. Its a doomsday scenario without the nukes. I cannot see how they can stop the spread. They can contain it, but it will only flare up again as it has done in China. Once our economies go, law and order will soon follow.

But we have to get away from the idea that the pre-war economy can be preserved.
We need to see mass job creation in terms of fighting the virus.

And besides, such investment to fight Covid 19, will mean the peace economy can rebound all the quicker, given the infrastructure to stop the worse effects of the virus will inspire greater public confidence.
