Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (ROC), is a country in East Asia. It is located at the junction of the East and South China Seas in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, with the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to the northwest, Japan to the northeast, and the Philippines to the south. Even if you wish really hard that it isn’t it still is. It has never been part of the PRC and has never been ruled by the CCP even if they wish really hard that it had.

Every human has a right to independence and freedom and if taiwan wants that then by all means they deserve it and if it is to be threatened then it is up to the US to stop taking advantage of things like that and actually step up and do what we claim to do and actually fight for that freedom and independence. Taiwan has not given up coveting the territory of mainland China, but now the combat effectiveness of Taiwan’s army is not as good as that of mainland China. Taiwan did not give up attacking mainland China because of freedom and democracy, but its strength was too weak. The emblem of Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense still includes mainland China and Mongolia.

1) In 1894, Japan invaded China and Korea, the Qing gov was defeated and signed the [Treaty of Shimonoseki] to cede Taiwan Island to Japan.
2) During the WW2, at the Cairo Conference held in 1943, China asked the transfer of Taiwan’s sovereignty back to China after the war. This content was included in the [Cairo Declaration] and later reiterated in the [Potsdam Proclamation] that it should be implemented.
3) On 14 Aug & 2 Sept 1945, the Emperor and govt of Japan issued the [End War Edict] and [Japanese Instrument of Surrender] , Japan surrendered and accepted the [Potsdam Proclamation]. The Japanese troops in Taiwan surrendered to KMT General CKS. Taiwan re-entered the territory of the Republic of China (ROC).
4) Soon after that China civil war broke out between KMT and CCP, the KMT was defeated and fled to Taiwan. However, due to US intervention, the CCP without a strong navy at that time has no ability to unify Taiwan. The CCP then established the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on 1949. The civil war continues…..
5) In 1971, UN Resolution No. 2758 ruled that the PRC had obtained the representation rights and all legal rights originally owned by the ROC in the UN. That means the PRC is China’s only legal govt under international law, and today the PRC also become China’s only legal govt recognized by 180 countries around the world, including the USA.

Secure the chips, keep those scientists safe, and get ready to blow those factories sky high if China invades. I see this as US and Taiwan provocation. For over 70 years China has been happy with de facto Taiwan independence as long as It acknowledges One China (meaning that it is a part of China de jure). There would be no friction but for US puppet politicians like Tsai Ingwen pushing for a de jure independence that they don’t need (they already have real and meaningful de facto independence) and can never have because it would trigger an automatic invasion. Everyone in China and Taiwan knows the history and that Taiwan has always been a part of China.

All countries that have diplomatic ties with China, have accepted the one China policy with CCP as only government, that means Taiwan is part of China under CCP. So China’s approach to Taiwan should not be described as “invasion”, because Taiwan is not being recognized by the majority of the world as an independent country.
