The ruling party merely wrote fake figures and announced them on TV as election “results”. Nigerian law mandates that authentic and verified election results from the polling units must be DIRECTLY UPLOADED into the electoral body’s server, and from there the total votes will be tallied. This provision of the Nigerian law was exactly to prevent corrupt and powerful people from writing and announcing their fake figures as election “results” as is the case now.
Unfortunately, the ruling party bypassed this check and balance to go ahead to announce their own fake figures as “results” which were not even in the electoral body’s server! This is such a disgrace as even very poor countries can now conduct credible elections peacefully while Nigeria is still under the yolk of powerful people writing and announcing their own figures as election “results”. One hopes that the corrupt government officials that are making it impossible for the true votes at the polling units to be counted will not force Nigerians into fighting for a violent change.
African politics sucks. The winner is decided before you cast a vote. There is a civil war brewing on that continent. Countries will turn into Haiti run by gangs.
NBC had nothing to say about the elections all through the campaigns but is quick to publish “VIOLENCE ERUPTS”.

Time to split Nigeria in to four sections like it was in the past.. this would bring peace since Nigerians cant seem to get away from this TRIBALISM mindset…. EastRegion, WestRegion, MiddleBelt and NorthernRegion.. Abuja will still be the capital of Nigeria (similar to DC in the US). Each region will have a PM/President and each state will still have a governor, all revenue will be allocated to each region EQUALLY.. and each state within thier respective region will be responsible of investing and building/improving their own infrastructure..etc.. this is the best solution to alleviate this ongoing non-sense…

The Nigerian constitution is the problem. Ibos and other ethnic nationalities within Nigeria should rally around and bring the constitution down. It’s never a one-man affair to liberate a country, and I don’t see OBi as the Messiah either.
Nigeria’s constitution is the main virus, and it’s a fraudulent one, we don’t need a constitutional amendment but rather an overhaul of the entire fraudulent laws that have kept Nigerians as slaves in their own country. The political cabals know this, hence they keep pushing for elections.. It’s simple logic. A unitary system of governance is a toxic one in a country with multi-ethnic nationalities.

Voting in Africa is largely ethnic/religious. It’s possible Tinubu won. Obi won in his South East backyard, Lagos, Abuja n Christian areas in the North. Tinubu won in his Yoruba backyard n a number of Northern states, perhaps because he is Muslim, same thing to Abubakar
Also, the amount of votes that Obi got in many states were significantly reduced in order to inflate Tinubu’s votes and make him look like the winner.

This is not a true reflection of what happened. It really isn’t. If you can rig an election then you should perhaps try to win in your own state, the president as leader of the incumbent party would want to win in his state as well as the capital territory. However the winning party lost in these places. The people truly spoke. There was a cashless policy that completely obliterated money politics which was hitherto the norm. This policy was injurious to the winning candidates chances but the incumbent had promised free and fair elections and he was determined to deliver. There were three candidates Peter Greg Obi of the Labour Party who did smashingly well for a first timer, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party a former vice president and seasoned politician who’s consistentency and ambition to be president resulted in him coming 2nd with impressive numbers. The Winner is a first time aspirant for president who’s helped countless other aspirants vying for the presidency by providing a platform, some aspirants he supported include both the current Labour Party aspirant and Peoples Democratic Party aspirant ! He very often put his own ambition aside. I am proud of these patriots. This is the first time in decades that we will be having really low and isolated incidence of violence . There was voter apathy, caused by a variety reasons, the cashless policy being the most hurtful to a lot of Nigerians. We were however forced to vote with purpose. These are solid gains for our democracy and nation. Please do some further investigating it wasn’t at all the doom, gloom and chaos expected of a typical African nation. The other aspirants have cried foul and are going to court, that’s the civil thing to do.

There is literally no way this Tinobu guy won. Peter Obi definitely garnered far much more support from the populace for a long time and he even gained a bit of popularity in some parts of the west. There is just no way the people chose that guy over him considering the far better greater plans he had for Nigeria compared to other candidates. As a Nigerian American here in the U.S., I generally don’t keep up with Nigerian politics that much but this year’s election results were certainly a shock.
If the USA and the European union should turn their blind eyes on this Nigerian rigged election, many people across the world shall never take them serious whenever they will accuse their adversaries such as Russia, China, Iran etc. for doing the same thing that the criminals in the Nigerian government did in this election. The USA and the European union should not allow those perceived as friends to carry out crimes and then want the whole world to join them in condemning their adversaries. It is wrong to celebrate the crimes of the friends of the USA and the European union and then turn back to criticize the same crimes of those perceived as enemies. The world is expecting the USA and the European union to protect the democracy in Nigeria, if this is not the case, then USA and the European union don’t mean we’ll for Africa.
