Officials reported no injuries and no public health threats, but asked less than a dozen residents within 1,000 feet of the site to shelter in place for roughly nine hours overnight. Authorities also say they were unaware the train had hazardous materials on board before the derailment.

I can’t help but think if I was scraping paint off a house near the road and someone reported me to the EPA I would be shut down the next day, forced to take a lead paint certification and show pictures of proper cleanup and disposal. How do I know this? ?????? Because it happened to me. And the real kicker is there was no lead in any of the paint after proper testing and sending I out. How is the company not shut down and tested for safety and upkeep, trainings and clean up after the 1st toxic spill???? How does the EPA let things go that are a clear safety hazard? 🤔

The frequency and proximity of train derailments makes sabotage the most likely answer per Occam’s razor…ball bearings can be sabotaged especially by people who know what they’re doing and could have a grudge.
