The three candidates competing to succeed Nicola Sturgeon as Scotland’s first minister have held their first televised debate.
They attacked each other over their roles in the government.
The exchanges were dominated by discussions on social and economic policy as well as Scottish independence.

There are appalling countries in the world that do not tolerate certain races or religions. That is true. But some of those countries are nuclear armed and in the Middle and Far East. These nations are some of Britain’s closest allies.
