A regional United Nations body is forecasting the worst-ever economic contraction for Latin America and the Caribbean, following oil prices moving into negative territory as demand drops due to global coronavirus restrictions.
Many Latin American countries which produce oil will be hit badly and the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean predicts a 5.3 percent drop in economic activity.

Socialism looks great in the text book, but cannot work due to human nature – The people in charge will always take a larger portion of production than they earned, and many people will get much less than what they earn. Democratic Capitalism is not perfect either but it’s the best system where a hard or smart worker can keep more of what they make and invest in education or business to increase their earning capacity. Governments don’t know how to farm, how to mine, how to invent new products or how to employ people, only free people that can invest in their idea generate wealth for themselves and the people they employ. @Chloe wilson I think a combination of factors work in our favor…one is that we have lots of beaches and sunshine.. traditionally we have always used the beaches as our elixir..also many of us grow herbs in our backyard yards that we drink as teas and use as remedies for our ailments so as soon as we get a sore throat we will drink our bush teas and go down to the beach.. additionally our diet is different to the first world because many of us don’t have the money to buy the foods you guys eat and drink..so we eat from our soil..things like sweet potatoes..yams cassava eddoes and and an assortment fruits and vegetables and meats that we raiseb and grow ourselves…I think our diet is more strengthening and healthy than that of the first world…but as I said and will maintain it is ultimately God on our side because we call on Him in every trying situation and this one is no different…He answers those who call on Him with humility and faith
