If I understood it, the analysis was the number of permits for Platinum Jubilee and the number of requests for permits as yet for the Coronation, 5/06/2023.
I do not recall the exact ratio [can easily Google check it], but it was less than 10% of the 06/2022 events planned.

I think this is right. Harry should be there to honour his father, the King.
Meghan staying home with the children is also right. The media would create a huge circus around her and it would indeed distract from the King’s day.

It is laughable that some people on this forum actually think the exact date of celebrating a 4 year old’s birthday has any significance compared to a Coronation. Understand that Charles picked the date and he picked it to be Archie’s birthday to give Harry and Megs a graceful out (even though a 4 year old birthday party isn’t really a good excuse but it suffices as a legit excuse for most people who don’t think about it in depth). H and M apparently made a lot of demands like wanting balcony time and front row seating and seats at the official dinners even though these things are only for working Royals which they are not (by their own choice). According to insiders, the reason they took so long to RSVP way past the deadline is because they were holding out for their demands. The Palace did not meet the demands so she decided not to come. If she was actually not attending because of her 4 year old’s birthday party then she would have stated that in a timely manner– No reason for her to wait on the RSVP unless she was holding out for her demands. The demands were made for both of them getting seats and positions for the various events and not just for Harry. So, in fact, it is known that they were negotiating for the two of them to attend and has now declined because conditions were not met. She can now get a commentator gig for the day and claim that she was not made welcome because she is mixed race.
I don’t know how many of you saw this but Harry attended a hearing in court in London for the media court case a couple of weeks ago (that now looks like will be dropped since a star witness claims it is not his signature on a key document). At any rate, it was odd that he decided to fly all the way for just a small, formality hearing in court especially since he claims he does not have security and especially since he claims to be concerned about climate when he took a private jet. Anyway, there is footage of him purposely bumping into a photographer. It is so staged as he is looking right at the photographer for several steps before going out of his way to walk into the guy. This was the footage he wanted to use in his other court case claiming he is hounded by the press and needs international important person status/international security. It is also good footage for the next Netflix episode to “prove” that he is being physically harassed by the media. LOL

The children were not invited and are not given any roles during the coronation. No point in flying them to UK, just to be locked up in frogmore cottage while the rest are celebrating. Best decision made is to stay in California where they can celebrate Archie’s bday.
