A group of people in the Washington, D.C., area are turning to herds of sheep to mow their lawns instead of using gas-guzzling lawn mowers and noisy weed whackers. NBC News’ Gary Grumbach has the story.

#DC #Sheep #Lawnmowing
Are they illegal sheep!
so they aren’t using gas in lawn mowers but they are using gas in a high power diesel truck that’s pulling a trailer of sheep around? that’s quite the virtue signal
Looks wholesome. No lawn mower noise.
That’s a gas truck
Yes because electric trucks aren’t as commercially available as gas-powered trucks, and one person towing a sheep trailer per neighborhood is gonna be far better than everyone in that neighborhood having a gas mower, especially since the guy probably owned the truck before doing this so it’s not like he’s adding any carbon. If this kind of thing can get properly established I imagine electric vehicles would be a lot more common for this work
But the sheeps are at least turning the lawn into wool and meat, so the process is still more efficient
Yea, because the roads the pollution driving machine is using is environmentally friendly. Made with wood and dirt. No petroleum used. How is this good for mental health when it’s based on lies. The humans are the brain dead sheep
You’ve been able to rent goats in Portland for years. It’s quite the sight.
@ohotnitza I’ve been to Portland for the marathon. I got hounded for change or cigarettes every 150 ft by a 20 yr old heroin addict with a pet dog!🤔👍
@ohotnitza pretty waterfalls you got there tho!
@MikeN 32451 yeah it’s a serious problem. We have a couple of plans we’re just putting into place, so check us out in two years. It’s a bit cleaned up now, but it’ll take a while for it to “stick”. And yeah the waterfalls are nice. 🙂
Your also just as likely to hit a homeless bigger taking a crap on the sidewalk with that stick
@ohotnitza This happened 16 yrs ago….😬 Yes its very unfortunate. It was one of my favorite cities. Toured the submarine. Heavenly doughnuts. Hit several bars. Food trucks. Pretentious coffee shops. All the touristy spots. 😂Very pedestrian friendly city in the middle of a forest. Its a shame to hear of its decline. 🤦🏼
Fairfax VA, not DC!
you get meat grass cut and wool
and milk!
AND Organic fertilizer
😉

DC has been using sheep for years.
Why else would big Corporations now own everything that real Americans used to?
Soon enough we will all be able to hire these “elites” in DC to cut our lawns.
Something every farmer knows about.
And other states have been doing it for decades.
Environmentally friendly 😂😂😂 methane and carbon dioxide are generated by animals. 😂😂
But they turn the grass into wool and sheepmilk. The trade off is good.
They truck used to transport is more carbon emissions that a lawn mower 😂
You produce the same maybe you should take yourself out
This is how we trim grasses in and around Madrid… you can see herds on the side of the freeway. It’s good for them, and good for us. Besides you know what the sheep you’re eating was fed with.
CA uses sheep as well as goats in high fire risk areas and near rivers. 🙂
why do you think every old school farmer has a goat in his front yard?
So he can’t hide a klunky car behind the weeds…
Lamb mowers.. I love it
It’s a mower & a fertilizer at the same x
🎉🎉🎉awesome
“Duh” says every other country in the world that already does this.
And several states in the US have been doing it for decades. CA for one.
im going to feel bad that the sheep might die… sometimes theres chemicals in the lawn…
Yup, the chemicals in American lawns are disgusting.
Well that’s what they’re hoping to avoid using the sheep, no need for chemicals if the sheep are doing the work. That said the “first generation” of mower sheep would probably need some booster meds or something
“Have you HERD the sheep” 🤦🏾♂️
Awesome 😉😃
Weve got a mobile goat service here just outside of Boston that people absolultely love.
Stupidity she put grass up by the roots
Like my horse and goat have my acres covered. I had a flock of sheep, too much.
THERE VIEWERS ARE MOWING LAWNS?🤔
Bringing back a more peaceful time!!! How wonderful ❤😊💖♥ and soooooo cute!!! ❤💙💜💖💗 And, so much better than those horrid weed killing chemicals!!!! Sure hope this becomes a trend!!! 💚❤💙💜💖💗💚
A person offered 4 goats to mow down my mother’s backyard when things became too overgrown. With all the briars I said no.
Goats love it tho
Your a boomer aren’t you?
Nice, need this around here,
Nice. Here in NZ too, sometimes, likw in our case, we use cows. Heaps.of them 😂
Dats fully sic ay bro 🤣
The will eat the weeds and grass
In no time thugs will be shooting them for fun
Muslims 🤣
also they have natural fertilizer
Cows make great lawn mooers.
Depends on the size of the lawn though… Llamas would be good as well, CA uses goats in places. Several animals would be happy to mow (free fertilizer) large areas.
CA has been doing this (goats also) in river parkways and other high fire risk areas for around 30 years.
Keep an aye on anyone wearing their pants tucked in their Boots around them Sheep.
The moral of the story – we feed them, they feed us – hmmmm, tasty.
