Go to a tactical rifle class on a weekend and you’re generally required to bring at least 1000 rounds. Most people have multiple thousands of rounds per caliber on hand.

I think America as a whole needs to enforce a law where you can only have so much ammunition for your firearm.
Because we all know really that they’re going to do absolutely nothing but *talk* about what *SHOULD* be done.
Remember *the key to fixing or changing something is to start at the root of the cause* . In this case it would be the US government allowing their citizens to buy firearms for “self defence” without proper safety measures, precautions and background checks.
My family business (I’m the only one not involved in it any longer) is a gun shop. As a former gun shop owner it is IMPOSSIBLE to regulate ammunition. They cannot even do that with firearms even if they tried.
That’s just a form a gun control. A gun is just a glorified club if you have no ammo!

For typical AZ residents who shoot even 6 weekends at the range annually, this is a pretty low round count. The general public should know there are more good folks with 10,000 + rounds at home than they think. May the families find peace one day. May this trauma have minimal consequential trauma of the family friends and survivors. As an avid shooter and 2A supporter we do need more normalization of mental health. But in reality there is no disproportionate number of any of those doing this…and it’s not a conspiracy…it’s a country with 330+ million people, and they, like everyone else, are subject to the laws of Physics and Mathematics. In math, a group that large, have high probabilities, almost certainties, of mass shootings. It’s not some crazy plot by a group…it’s lone nuts. And the idea it can’t just be lone nuts, shows a fundamental lack of understanding of odds, probability, and human psychology.
The cause is being born male, usually, being lonely, usually, being bigoted in some way (could be racism, sexism, etc.), having narcissism, and being increasingly fatalistic/nihilistic. The chances that cocktail of human doesn’t happen in a nation this large, many times a year, is nearly zero…hence it happens somewhat regularly, but in very low numbers relative to the whole population.

Most law abiding gun owners who practice will bring 500-1000 rounds to a range for “range day”.. bring your spouse and 1,400 is on the low end. The 1,400 rounds here is being twisted out of context… that is not unusual. The focus needs to be on locking up NUTS in nuthouses and keeping criminals in cages for as long as possible.

Access to 1400 rounds of ammunition is not a lot of ammunition as most firearms owners stockpile ammo in the calibers they use in quantities frequently much higher than 1400 rounds and those people never do anything wrong, it’s perfectly reasonable and normal to buy it when you can find it to hold onto because frequently there is shortages nowadays

I have 14 ar rifles in different calibers and 12 ar pistols in different calibers and 9 hand guns. I have a rule of a minimum of 1000 rounds for each rifle and 500 for each hand gun. I also mold my own bullets and hand load my own ammunition. I build my own guns and haven’t done any background checks in 20 years. Gun control is a useless joke at best. I have already taught my 14 year old son the trade and he has quite the arsenal too.

Generally the ammo prices at a range are much higher than a sporting store or gun shop. The best deals on 9mm or 5.56 are on 1,000 rd cases.
